Plans of a Music Festival
« on: August 29, 2008, 05:01:03 pm »
Just heard from a friend that there are plans for a Music Festival in CT. He showed me the list of who they are trying to get or already in talks with.(If you want it PM me, its pretty good) But i know that they are also looking for acouple of local Connecticut bands

So i was wondering would The Breakfast possibility do it, if asked?

If the $$$$ is right I suspect they would play anywhere if asked.

well my friend who works with the promoters, said that he overheard a call to he thinks to Paramore\'s management and thinks the tentative agreement right now for them is $50k  for a 75 minute set and also John Mayer is interested (something about playing a home festival) and the money has been agreed upon but wants to wait before he committs.

So i dont think the money is a problem with the promoters

:chin: sounds promising... it would be nice to have the band play in their home state for a festival, but I think it would be have to be on a main stage and they\'d have to have enough time for some good music to be played... possibly late night sets?

$50K for 1 set from Paramore? Fuck em! Give Breakfast that much money and I bet they won\'t stop playing for a week!
Put the pointed pencil in the pepper-po and take a little sniff of the things below. :sadban:

And the promoters would only draw 1,000 or so less people. :drew:

And, believe it or not. John Mayer can rip on the guitar. Not to Tim Palmieri levels, but well enough for all normal purposes. Point being, he\'s definitely a good guy for the Breakfast to meet. Hopefully this comes together in some form.

EDIT: This new job has bumped me up to 2,100 posts in a hurry. I was less active on dotinfo when I was unemployed.

I can envision John Mayer sitting in on Tricky Ways.
This isn\'t who it would be if it wasn\'t who it is.

For all the crap Mayer gets from what I have seen and read he seems like a great guy.

Is pro Taping, was funny as hell on Chappelle, everytime I see him on TMZ or some crap like that he is always busting their balls

The blues stuff he did not too long ago was pretty good as well.

If your festival needs some experienced volunteers / back stage PA folks let me know ;)

Jesus, you get one song on Rock Band and you start making $50,000 an hour.  Unbelievable.  A couple of computer programming geeks sitting around at Harmonix in Cambridge are now some of the most powerful people in the music biz.  Crazy.  Good for them.

I wonder what percentage of people who know Paramore first heard of them because of Rock Band?  Has to be at least a third.

I haven\'t a clue who Paramore is, but for that extra $50,000 one could stack a festival with ass-kicking bands that book for little money at all by comparison.

Hey everybody, Joe\'s here. And he brought his high horse.

"Somebody said to me, \'But the Beatles were anti-materialistic.\' That\'s a huge myth. John and I literally used to sit down and say, \'Now, let\'s write a swimming pool.\'" - Sir Paul McCartney

I assume Paul was kidding at least a little bit, but my point is that materialism/commercialism isn\'t new, and it\'s not limited to bands that you don\'t like.
