RE: Shanny

I honestly think he is a good pick up. I think he was only really slowed down last year by injury. He is going to be the nail in the Rangers coffin at a crucial moment. Just wait. You\'ll be glad when he knocks the rangers out of the playoffs

Sorry, but it\'s personal to me, not a performance thing.  Once you take off your Devils sweater and put on a Ranger sweater, I have no use for you.

It\'s a nice thought, but I highly doubt it will happen.  No professional sport has succeeded in CT.

Canada is the hockey capital of the world. Hamilton should be the next city to get a team.

there was a bit on hockey on npr this morning.

the guy said that while it will never beat baseball, football or basketball, it has returned to its status of the 4th major sport in the country, with the winter classic getting better rattings than any of the new years day bowl games.

I had no idea the NHL All Star game was today.
Did any of you?

The NHL does a crappy job of advertising their sport even w/ the press the Winter Classic got.

After the 3 mentioned what other Major/Pro Sport is there?

Soccer? Soccer was more popular than Hockey?
Come On.

I did, but didn\'t watch it because I really find it boring. My wife and I did, however, watch the skills contest on Saturday night; much more interesting.

I\'m guess that the winter classic is promoting heavier in the cities that are hosting and that are participating.  I watched part of it this year, but I\'ll be honest, I had no interest in either team playing.  It\'ll be more interesting when it\'s closer to home and the Devils actually have a shot at playing one of these games.

Soccer, Lacrose, Bass Fishing, Bicycling, Skateboarding, etc...
