wah you are my boy so I am going to give you the master key to jumping into this thread, pissing a few people off, getting some laughs, making light of shitty situation, telling the band how you really feel, making a little boy cry, while still reiterating the true feelings of the entire fanbase, and fufilling the  true purpose why message boards and the internet in general was created in the first place ....and here it is.....[FONT="]

now kee

ok your right, next time someone asks me of a capable band worthy enough to play a music conservatory i\'ll make sure to steer clear of mentioning the name the breakfast at all. in fact, i probably shouldn\'t suggest their name to any person i know willing to pay them or get their name out there. that\'s probably a better idea right klout?  someone earlier in this thread said something along the lines of \'i sometimes wonder if you guys want the band to succeed at all\' and i genuinely wonder the same thing.

after years of seeing this band, i feel i\'ve done more then my part to see them and promote them to the best of my ability. i don\'t care what this fucking guy thinks of the fact that when asked for a suggestion (months ago mind you) for a band to play halloween at an incredibly prestigious college, i mentioned one of my favorites. obviously i figured it would be good exposure and i figured that if they didn\'t want the deal, they wouldn\'t take it. i find myself wondering why I\'m trying to explain myself whatsoever, when my intentions were clearly to get the band\'s name out there.

the only thing that really angers me (as i swear to all of you i couldn\'t care less about what this guy has to say about what i \'ruined\' for him) is that i genuinely do feel like i do a lot for this band. the overall experience of seeing the breakfast isn\'t always the easiest thing. they play some strange places at odd hours and a lot of the times I will travel just to see them play a short set. i\'m incredibly dedicated to this band and have been for upwards of three years now.  I care about them doing well, as i feel they deserve it.  I won\'t apologize for sugggesting to my good friend to merely attempt to book a favorite band of mine.  I love this band very much and am inspired by a lot of the music they make.

Where\'s the quote:

That\'s how I feel about them, so what does it matter where they played the night before?

sweet blog but unfortunately for you your argument is a dooze and your in severe need of a reality check.

First of all stop tooting your own horn for what you think was an amazing service to this band.

Secondly do you REALLY think that your the only one who cares if the band ever blows up and anyone who thinks this show is a shitty move is just thinking about their own personal plans and not the band?

Did you ever consider the fact that a well booked, well promoted, well themed, friday night, halloween night show, at a good, centrally located north east venue would have been a WAY better move for the band, actually giving them MORE and BETTER exposure, equal or close money, keeping the established fan base a lot happier, and overall would have been a way bigger success and milestone for the band?

obviously not.

do it!!

just about every breakfast show i have seen is via some weird route across the country.  oberlin in 7.5 hours (and a time zone change)...not sure what else is going on closer yet.  would travel for a 2-setter perhaps.  i get discouraged sometimes when i go so far out of my way to travel to see the breakfast and they only play one set...although some one-setters are the heat!

continue your bitching about boston.  some people seem to enjoy it.

your right, next time im given the opportunity to help the band, i\'ll make sure to run it by you first klout, cool? no i didnt consider that someone like you would get angry with me for reccomending the breakfasts name to a good friend looking for a band (knowing nothing about pricing or surrounding shows at the time).  Your being so unreasonable and selfish in this situation klout, and i think that you need to take a step back and realize why you\'re bitching at all.

as well, the last thing i was doing was \'tooting my own horn\' in this thread. i was merely pointing out that i do my part to get their name out there so i don\'t need \'fans\' like you telling me i ruined things for them or am making a \'shitty move\' by actually helping this band.  IF THEY DIDN\'T WANT THE OFFER THEN THE DIDN\'T HAVE TO TAKE IT. I wasn\'t behind making the actual decisions happen, i simply told my friend to consider it, and next thing i know, he calls me telling me they are booked.  Then I heard about the surrounding shows and thought there was a mistake or something of the sort.  I aplogize to anyone in this thread who is getting annoyed by the bickering but I felt obligated to defend myself in one way or another seeing as this whole situation is benefiting the band or else they wouldn\'t have accepted to go to oberlin.

I know you had good intentions kid. But you fucked up. bad.

If you still can\'t understand that then YES, you should definitely run things by me in the future before acting.
