@ INFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

if we got all this money here why are so many people on the street?
and with all this technology why is it such a struggle just to eat?
if we got all this love to give, why do we get so stuck in feeling hate?
and if we\'re all made all just the same, why is it so hard sometimes to relate?

It takes a group like you and me
to overcome hypocracy
it takes a certain will of steel
to think beyond your next meal

if we see a problem starting, do we have let it come to boil?
If we can use the wind and sun what business do we have with all this oil?
If we know peace is the way, why are we so quick to go to war?
could someone explain to me, exactly what it is were fighting for?

It takes a group like you and me
to make a true democracy
it takes a certain will of steel
to think beyond your next meal

as i look around me
i see people ready for change
if you read the papers
it\'ll only flush your hope down the drain

but without no tv
i see things in a different light
i breathe the fresh air
as i gaze at stars in the warm warm night

the world is see without has me feeling doubt
the world i see within, renews my faith again

People will do what they will
there\'s trouble brewing on the hill
let\'s line up and with our force
we\'ll steer this ship back on its course

widows cry your final tears
we\'ll end this war in coming years
their terror acts we cant control
but at least we can stop our own,

is there something i can do
to understand these points of view
i only know what i know at any given time

is there something i can say
so sooner comes a brighter day
a better understanding of all human kind

thanks matt.

I like the part about renewable energy.

Unfortunately we are a very long way from meeting our energy needs without fossil fuels.

World oil supply is peaking and demand is increasing and there is a HUGE gap between the energy we are using and what we have currently in renewables/what we can realistically get going in the near future. Not to even mention the whole green house gas emission issue.

Hopefully capitalism will continue to work and market forces will drive the global energy economy in the right direction. But capitalism is dependent on growth and without sufficient energy there can not be growth and the entire system will collapse. In which case we are pretty much screwed and there is going to be a lot more hunger and war than there is now. But I am hopeful that things will all work out. If not, it was fun while it lasted.

Good energy policy will certainly help if the politicians ever get their shit together but if your hoping they are gonna just fix this problem for us and make everything all better with a few pieces of legislation...it ain\'t gonna happen.

We basically need a complete paradigm shift and retooling and rewiring of the entire industrialized world (equal or greater than the changes that took place during the industrial revolution) if humans are going to survive with any kind of prosperity and sustainability. Awareness of our predicament is the first step though and songs like this can only help that cause. So again, thanks.

I don\'t remember anything about the recording (though I\'m sure it\'s fine), but 6/27 at The Field was pretty ser.
