Can someone in the tri-state area take the temperature of Jet nation and give us a feel of the reaction today?  I really wish I could listen to WFAN today, must be interesting.  What are the tabloids saying?  What are people saying?

I think I speak for the majority of Jets fans when I say that I\'m super excited about this trade.

I agree that they probably still can\'t win the super bowl, but they are definately playoff contenders now.

They significantly upgraded all 3 of their major weaknesses of last season: QB (Favre), the O-Line (Faneca and Damien Woody) and the Defensive front 7 (Vernon Gholston, Kris Jenkins and Calvin Pace)

It may take a few weeks for Favre and the Jets to gel of course, but I\'m hoping he\'s up to full speed by Week 2 vs. the Pats.  I think they take 1 of 2 from the Pats this year.

Fans always love when their teams are relevant, no exception here.  Unless you want to have Chad Pennington\'s babies like Postom

It\'ll sting even more when he doesn\'t get signed by anyone else. Even if he does get signed he\'ll always be a backup. He had one good season his entire career (2002) and that\'s it. The guy can\'t even throw more than 15 yards accurately. He\'s lucky he made it this long in the NFL. Though, I\'m sorry you have to see your fav player get dropped.

Um, sorry, no.

Favre is not going to help the jets and the jets are not going to help favre. he should have gone out with pride last year after a great season, retired with the packers, and chilled for the rest of his life. He\'s too old, he sucks balls, and the pats are going to murder him.

Why are jets fans so obbessed with chad? he wasn\'t really all that good. In fact, he was quite bad.

I\'m not obsessed with Chad.  I\'m actually happy that we made a move.  I\'m not sure that Favre is the answer since he\'ll most likely be gone next year, but we needed to do something to breathe life into this team.  Chad will always hold a place in the heart of Jets fans, don\'t know how else to explain it.
