The Inner Mounting Flame is a good place to start

all the above suggestions are excellent choices, but i would recommend staying away from inner worlds or adventures in radioland which may come up in your searches. those albums are not the same lineup and as a huge mclaughlin fan i would say those albums are some of his worst.  also if you ever get into the band and want to hear some of there live material (which really is something incredible as the songs are way more intense than on recording) just pm me and i would gladly send you some.
drivin\' cross the country i get too fucking high...

1. The Inner Mounting Flame
2. Birds of Fire
3. The Lost Trident Sessions

You can\'t go wrong with any of these, but start with 1 and/or 2.

This is an interesting statement. you could say it several ways:
You can go wrong with nothing
You can\'t be correct with anything
To be correct, do nothing
You\'re wrong if you do anything
etc.

yep, I\'m easily entertained at 4am.

now i stand no chance against the brains of a certain Paul Ryan,
but wouldnt it be "you can\'t be incorrect with anything"?
to be correct do anything
you\'re wrong if you do nothing?

i\'m sorry, i\'ll sign off now
