Well I grew up with a step father who was a cop and my mother actually worked for the O.C. Sheriff\'s Office as a reserve officer. My Mom never went out on Patrol and was a pencil pusher but my stepfather was as fucking crooked as they come and was out all the time. He and the cops he was involved with definitely helped form my fuck the police attitude.
Sure I have met a cool cop here and there but for the most part they are not to be trusted and not out to serve and protect. I find this to be true in most of the cities I have lived in and even in the backwoods of Arkansas where my Mom lives.
Even in interactions I have had with cops supposedly helping I have found them to be confrontational and condescending.
The thing is I am very vocal about mine and others rights and have had numerous run ins with Police over their tactics and have never ended up in jail for them because due to my size I am considered for many to be non threatening and because I do know my rights never cross a line they can easily draw up afterward.
Like last night I told the cop fuck you near him and not within earshot of the perimeter crowd. All he could do was take it as it was one on one and you can say anything you want to another person as long as you are not threatening them.
Cops have to be the ones to be the level head if doing their job correctly. Yeah I may have pushed them verbally a bit because I was pissed but if they were doing their job correctly they would not have gotten all bent and things would have gone smoother.
They also put hands on me and once I brought it to the crowd\'s attention it was funny how quickly they let go as I was obviously not a problem for them to be grabbing me as they were.
I think I do walk a very thin line sometimes but I really don\'t care and will continue to fuck with cops any chance I get when I see them abusing their power.
Please write if I end up in jail. TIA
Cops hate flannel
Believe it or not I was not wearing a flannel.
:holyshit::jawdrop:
I just received a Jambase email notification for an upcoming Moonalice show.
I almost mistook G.E. Smith for Leith in the photo - same long blonde hair and a flannel.
Yeah I got ribbed hard hanging out with "Dad" while on tour.
As a matter of fact hanging outside of Toad\'s a dude came by on his bike and said " Hey great show man." I laughed and was like okay? He looked at me again and mumbled something else, laughed and rode off. I can\'t remember who was with me but we looked at each other like WTF?. It wasn\'t until a couple hours later while recounting the story to someone did it occur to me what had happened.
