Hey everyone, Tim here. Hope all is well. I want to ask all of you coming to the shows next week to come out early and check out the Macpodz from Ann Arbor, MI. They are a great mix of funk, latin, jazz, and rock while keeping the energy high and having fun. They\'re fans took care of us and I hope you all do the same. Its going to be a fun run with them here in the northeast and I look forward to sharing the stage with them and sharing great energy with all of you.

:banboogy: I\'m looking forward to it!  Rickey said great things about their sound and their ability to get the crowd dancing!  Sounds like fun - we\'re all definitely in for a treat :stoned:

saw the macpodz last night at red square, fuckin AWESOME.  one of the most fun shows ive ever been to.  The last song they played in their first set (which ended at 2am), had to have been 45 minutes long, and consisted of probably 20 different band switchups and the following people:  all off the macpodz switching instruments, jim and vinnie from moe, my friend jeff prescott from 2 phat 2 skate on percussion, eric and shannon lynch from lynch and a fewother random people hitting things on stage.  it reminded me of a street performance in new orleans or something.  the band would walk into the audience at times and jump around with everyone.  just an amazing show, really fun and ENERGETIC band...EVERYONE was dancing and and i saw some of my upstate bfast crew there.  great great time i cant wait to see them again.

Good times.  They said that they would be coming around again shortly.

Looks like they\'ll be around these parts at the end of summer. (If not sooner)  Were added to moe.down.

When we were talking to the drummer he raved and raved about Adrians playing!

Yeah... people who are musicians definitely tend to have a lot of positive things to say about the guys in the band. Seems a lot of the non-musicians out there need to get a clue.

Check out a pretty good read from Ross of the Macpodz here.

One excerpt:

Quote
The originators of "Genius Food for Super Heroes," collided with the ranks of the Most Important Meal of the Day in the Green Mountain State for a midnight brunch, a continental buffet, featuring the dueling basses of Chris DeAngelo & Brennan Andes on the Eddie Harris tune "Freedom Jazz Dance," followed by a nine-piece bucket of "the Chicken" by Jaco Pastorius. Adrian was roaring behind the set, Nick was spurring him onward with fierce conga fills, and Griffin whaled on the cowbell, a true preponderance that satisfied every Will Ferrell in the room. Matt Oestericher and Jesse were trading riffs on the keyboards; Tim Palmieri and I were taking jabs, guitar and trumpet. I was astounded at Tim\'s endless supply of tasty riffs. There were moments that it was impossible for me to discern what notes were coming from which instruments, but I had a sense that it was funky, in the broadest sense of the term. A cosmic orchestra, Breakpodz for Macfast, ain\'t nothin\' but a pizza party.
