Food For Thought ?

Is this a new Breakfast fan created charity group?
I saw posts that they would be collecting food at Toad\'s.

It started out as a one-time thing at Daniel Street, but we had lots of positive feedback, so now it\'s growing into something much bigger than originally thought.  The band will be working with the CFB (Connecticut Food Bank) and running food drive events at the shows.  It\'s created a lot of favorable press so far, and has really helped out a good cause.  Also in action:  a "virtual" food drive... linked from their webpage to a donation site set up by the CFB.  (example)  I\'d love to see the cause continue on tour with the band, but we\'d need some help from people in Midwest/Pacific areas to help volunteer time, etc.... anyone? :)

I just got the tallies for the food drive at Toad\'s Place:

106.3 lbs of donated food, and $117.61 raised... congrats to everyone who contributed!!!  Since $5 = 18 meals for the needy, that\'s a big help to the CT Food Bank!!! :D

Here\'s a link to the Breakfast\'s food drive site... eventually, it will be a link directly from the band\'s site and/or myspace :)

I\'ve been fascinated by the recent appearance of ad\'s extoling the normalcy of High Fructose Cornsyrup.  I\'ve found they are the funniest commercial since Pork "The other white meat".

But this takes things to another level.  Ran across this in the Consumerist

WOW. That is really bad. If people accept these commercials is will be pretty amazing.

I\'m thinking about writing to the agency producing that ad to see if they\'ll send me a batch of stickers.

Tell you what, I could go for some fresh corn right now.

I had corn on the cob the other day that was rubbed in cajun spices and then grilled... so delicious.
