To everyone, you should have been there. As was discussed beforehand; don\'t ever miss an Upstate show, especially an untaped one.

Very poor placement of The Message. Killed all the momentum they had created from the first three songs. You take it out of there and the following Rush, See The Light > And She Was is even a bigger monster. Psygn and Tunage were so funky you\'d think you shit your drawers. The segue from See The Light > And She Was was flawless. The Scheme clocked in at just under 30 minutes. Living Daylights is not for the light hearted...mothafuckas! Total show time was 10:35 - 1:00, no setbreak.

If you\'re on the fence I\'d suggest you make the trip to the Mezzanotte this Saturday.

Was "See the Light" old school or is it just a missed \'inverted\' notation?

Inverted. I think that\'s pretty much the norm these days.

Ellis? He was there. The chant came about before See The Light. I don\'t remember the specifics from what Tim said but it was all in reference to Greg.

Ha.......it really started with Matt.  He would be sitting right next to Greg in the van or in the green room and just out of nowhere ask, "where\'s Ellis?".....It was frustrating Ellis to no end, so of course we had to adopt it...........It\'s Matt\'s catchphrase....sorta how "the betes" is Wilford Brimley\'s catchphrase....

missed u last night stevie!

the where\'s ellis thing is funny because I was yelling where the fuck is upstate and ellis all night cause i thought he weas on raq ture. the banter thing was like \'we\'re gonna do it old schoolragin light seeing Wednesday upstate rager yada yada\'

bust out of the night = gaboooooo! then upstate getting kicked off raq tour. oh and ellis\'s buddy and his ill dance moves in the back was pretty fuckin funny..

tunage was fuckin fierce and yea there was a lot of funkyness throughout the night right out of the box starting with psygn the bouncey airy light upbeat, yet still thick and tight and funky jams are what gets the crowd moving. then the bad ass raging parts come in and induce freak out face ownage mode. people were throwin down hard. For all the hype about the message being all fun and easy to dance to it was hands down the least danced to song all night and least paid attention to.  It was also the most drastically obvious buzzkill I have ever witnessed at a breakfast show. It wasn\'t like "yea VT song time to take a piss and get a beer" It was like going from an insanely hot rage fest of a show with the monster tuange to a cringey corny awkward wankfest. Thankfully they got through it pretty quickly though and resumed the in your face rage mode. And went on to play an overall great show. STL was very much in yo face. they didn\'t hang back on it all.  overall tunage was the biggest highlight. I cant even describe it. htbt.  really wanna see some new tunes saturday though

from the other thread....

psygn, reel time, tunage, the message, see the light^, Rush, And she was, The Vermont Song, Scheme*>Living Day Lights

E:Cult of personality

^With Upstate Banter
*with bass and drum solos

thats just from memory, might be out of order or incomplete

great show.

they came to play.

I have a new found respect for rush. it jsut gets better and better from the moment it starts.

I also have a new found distaste for the message. First three songs of psygn, reel time and especially tunage were AMAZING. They were on a ser roll and the message just totally killed the momentum and cleared out half the dance floor.

loved reel time. thats coming along.

LD is nasty. LD is for hardcore ragers only. LD is what separates the ready rock from the raw.

cuse is gonna rage!

you should all come out!!!!

.

.........there was teases too I remember singing the lyrics to one of them at one point but cant remember what it was heh little help anyone
