Unfortunately, I\'m back in this thread, and it\'s bad news.
Stephen Gencarelli Sr. passed away earlier today.
This past week it appeared that he was making good progress. The breathing tube was out, they had begun some physical therapy to get him back on his feet and he seemed to be getting that spark back. But some time this morning the artery in his stomach ruptured again and his blood pressure dropped and he did not respond to their attempts to revive him.
For those that never got to meet Senior, please allow me to give you a mere glimpse of a real gem:
he had a couple brothers, a couple sons, a couple birds and a dog named champ. he had an ex-wife whom he remained close friends with.
he was an accountant, he was my accountant. sure I could have done my own taxes, but going to see senior was so much more fun. He\'d show me Shakira video\'s that he downloaded and try to tell me that she "really was a talented musician!".
He was learning how to play the piano, so he\'d always play me a tune (this year was Journey\'s "Don\'t Stop Believing" - and yes, he rocked it).
I\'m not sure what Steve\'s plans are for tomorrow\'s Toad\'s show, but if I had to guess, I\'d say that he\'ll be front row, sweating and blowing eardrums out with that obnoxious fuckin\' whistle.
