what i try to do is make it sound to my friends like the breakfast is the next new thing...something like "yo you GOTTA hear this band the breakfast they are fucking sick!  everyones been talking about them their bustin out of the scene."

and then the person im talking to, (even if theyve never heard of them) say..."oh yeah ive heard a lot abotu those guys."

i think the idea is to not let anyone know that they have been around for almost 10 years and still only have the popularity they have

If you find me five female newbies between the ages of 18 and 25, I guarantee that I can turn them into fans before the restraining order takes effect.

It\'s cool that no one takes the band\'s growth seriously..

this was a good thread til david hasselhoff, klout, and gary coleman made an appearance.

and klout seems to be obsessed with making statements about being gay today. maybe he should come out of the closet himself.

I personally brought 20 people through the door on NYE and a dozen for the freak out just by word of mouth hype.  It\'s very easy to do if you know cool people who are into good music and willing to travel. If you don\'t its pretty close to impossible.

Getting casual fans to post on .info and become obsessed with the band is not easy though. Its the kind of thing happens on its own. You cant force it to happen no matter how much you hype it all up and force them to listen to shows.  If they are going to come around they will. If not they will just continue to see shows in or close to their hometown as they occur.

People also have kids and jobs and lives as well. We all know people who are huge fans that really can\'t travel to see the band anymore due mostly to the fact that they have settled down considerably since college.

The real answer is just for the band to play everywhere all the time and not stop.

The hardcore fan base will always travel to see them but they need to draw big crowds of locals where ever they go.

THe way to do that is just tour like crazy to all the best cities in the best areas of the country.
