I have to say, I went to Toad\'s tonight with all intentions of just passing out hand bills for Daniel Street during Raq\'s setbreak and then heading home. I got there about a third the way into the opening band\'s set. They were Barefoot Truth. I had just read a few hours before heading to New Haven about them opening and checked out
their site. I liked what I heard and enjoyed what I heard of their set much more. Def. check them out!
Now on to Raq...I have known these guys for years and been to at least a couple dozen shows. What I witnessed tonight was pure bliss compared to all other encounters!! It was Stoops\' son\'s birthday and he was there with a couple cool "stage moments" (pics to follow). The stars were def. in alignment for tonight\'s show. I was expecting a setbreak, to hand out fliers, but they were so on and having a great time in front of a fairly dooze crowd they kept on playing straight through. So all you bashers, of which I was kinda one, check out this show and see where they are now. Hopefully they keep in tune with the energy put into tonight\'s performance and make me write this many letters (I can\'t type for shit) in a post next time I see them.
I\'ll have pics up very soon. Ellis did a great job on lights and is going down to Jersey tomorrow night to do lights for them at Mexicali Blues.
Oh, and btw, there was talk after the show of very near future collaborations and a possible co-bill. (Just had to add feed to the rumor mill)
