The Red Sox won in a shutout and yet I am totally disgusted by this game.  Not by the Red Sox but by Tampa Bay, the Rays, and everything that comes with it.  It is downright UNAMERICAN that the ALCS is being played in a dome in Florida.  To make matters worse, they have to cover 1/3 of the seats so they can call it a "sellout".  If Fenway Park held 200,000 people, they would still sell it out every night.  The Rays didn\'t draw more than 12,000 all year except against the Red Sox because 10,000 Red Sox fans would show up against the 7,000 Rays fans.  Now their "ballpark" is filled with a slew of goddam cowbell-ringing yahoos who weren\'t Rays fans as of 1 week ago.  Where were you all year you stupid yahoos?

I\'m sorry, but this actually makes me yearn for the Yankees.  I wish we were playing the Yankees right now.  I obviously don\'t like the Yankees but I realize now that I have some level of respect for them as an established and respectable baseball franchise.  I will never have this respect for the Rays.  Forgive my use of the term, but playing the Rays in the ALCS in a dome in Florida is just gay.  Even though my Sox won I think this whole series is stupid to some extent because we\'re playing the stupid Rays.  Bring on the Yankees next time.

The playoffs are about the games played, not the people that they put in their stadiums.  The Rays were the best team in the division for virtually the whole season.  Although, I wish it were the Yanks in the ALCS right now, the Rays deserve to be there.  I find this whole line of discussion ridiculous.

Snap judgment after just one game is that the ALCS will be a battle of whose bats wake up first. Hopefully Beckett can keep the Sox afloat today while they find their swing.

Right now, the most dangerous team in the postseason is the Phillies.

Rollins > Victorino > Utley > Howard > Burrell > Werth is just as dangerous up-and-down as Ellsbury > Pedroia > Ortiz > Youkilis > Drew > Bay. Plus, should Philly advance to the World Series, they add Pedro Feliz\'s 14 home runs as a designated hitter in the AL park.

The Phils were the one team in the NL that nobody was talking about, but they were my pick for the World Series from the start of the postseason. Shane Victorino = World Series MVP.

Obviously, a win would have been great for the Red Sox last night, but Boston still did what they had to do: take a game at the Trop. Now it\'s essentially a best-of-five series, with the next three games being played at Fenway and Jon Lester still due for two starts (if necessary) in the series. It\'s still anybody\'s series, but it\'s definitely advantage Sox right now.

The funniest/worst part is that hundreds of thousands if not millions of Sox fans in New England got out of work b/w 5:00-5:30 looking forward to booking it to the nearest bar or jumping into their car to take in the game.  And when they did, it was already over.

I\'ll be as happy as a pig in shit if TB and Phili are in the WS.  The Sox will be out and Manny will get what he deserves for dogging it so that he would get traded.

noted.

We were discussing sports team affinities at dinner last night.  Your name definitely came up for all the random, geographically-scattered teams you are a fan of.
