GAR!!!!!

but yah i think i am gonna hit this show up.they are gonna be hot after the midwest and cali. i am thinkin drive back to albany and crash after the show then amtrack or carpool to nyc the day after. lots of heads on the roll call tho, this is probably the most centrally located northeast bfast venue.

I was thinking the same thing.  We\'ll have to bring the NY carpool thread back up before then.  Figure something out.  Looking forward to the 4/20 weekend.

yeah agreed, we\'ll have to work out the details with rides, etc

Only poster on Iron Horse up right now -- Breakfast related -- is an 8x10" Trio-era press photo with a label and 12 point font reading "The Breakfast"

For comparison, Umphrey\'s McGee has an entire window and half of another window covered with their tricked out posters...

Either way I\'m still waiting on my promo kit, a few weeks ago would have been a good time to get that. I live DT Northampton and this is like the city of a thousand bulletin boards. Most bands have their concert announcements up a couple months in advance.

let me check with the powers that be. if nothing is no it\'s way i\'ll send you something in the next couple days

I\'m in the same boat with the promo materials, I responded back to the email a couple weeks ago but that\'s the last I heard, but I do have a bunch of promo cd\'s i\'ll be giving away at umphrey\'s

Iron Horse should be jammed full of people... as the official "welcome back" stop for the band, there is really no reason for it to be anything less than sold out.  Let\'s all do our part to help - bring a newb or 5 to see the show, and if you live in MA or near it, spread the word!  I\'d really like to see the club open the upstairs balconies because of the crowd! :awwyeah:

i have to go back the same night because i have a seminar early saturday morning.  I was planning on driving, because tonyas friend danielle drove us to toads a couple weeks ago.  i think both of them are going to IH, so ill drive them, and ill have room for one other.  The whole upsate crew can probably fit into 2 cars.  maybe we can all meet up near albany and get food before we head out.

Alright I got mail from Gencs last week and hit up all the bulletin boards.

I guess I am going to Umphrey\'s / U-Melt next friday I suppppppppoooooosseee I could hand out some handbills. But thats a real pain in the arse to do in certain mindstates. So I might just tape a bunch of Breakfast fliers around the Calvin and lamp posts nearby a few hours before Umphrey\'s goes on.

I personally get annoyed whenever I am tricked into grabbing a handbill on the way out of a concert. Like, sweet, now I have some trash I need to recycle when previously my ecological karma was in right order. So I prob won\'t be doing that. But I will bust the balls of the local UM crew to get them out to the Breakfast show.

Oh yeah Iron Horse still had no real posters of Breakfast up there even though other band have entire walls covered..... so I slipped maybe a half dozen of the color 8x11s under the door. Not exactly the best marketing strategy but hopefully they are using them.

:thumbsup: It\'s nice to see some promotion before the show, rather than on the same day! Great work :)

btw, If you don\'t feel like passing out the handbills, another good idea (which I\'m sure you already know) is to leave stacks at nearby businesses... package stores & college campuses & music shops are pretty lenient about letting you put the handbills on the counter.  It\'s be a shame to waste all the promo materials!  If you have any local friends, put them on the job of handing them out too! :awwyeah:

I agree that people who just hand fliers out at shows are wasting their time... but, I have definitely seen some bands that I wouldn\'t normally have seen when the person with the fliers makes an effort to talk to me about the band - the style, musical influences, etc. -  instead of just putting a paper in my hand and walking away.
