I would love to see LA v NY Finals would be sweet for Phil to get a championship w/ NY as player and against them as coach.

The Grizzlies? The Grizzlies? Dave the ship is sinking fast. Grab a life preservor. At this point 1/2 a Shaq is better than none huh?
So that is what, ten games lost since the start of this thread? Shall we rename it ? Lakers Trainwreck ? Hope they can at least win one on this road trip. Damn.

Bryant\'s back. A win at the Jazz. Get healthy. Get the top seed.

I\'d settle for top 3.  They could work it no problem

The three seed wouldn\'t be that bad, but the Kings lost tonight.

Nice win last night. Mr. Williams played his first game of the season. 2 pts in 8 minutes but just being out there was a boost to the team. Shaqalicious and Jellybean Jr. both played about 1/2 the game but just having everyone out there was great. Fish was the man. He got this one pass off a steal by I think Kareem Rush and going up he was fouled but he fought threw that shit for an and1 (which he made). Poor Karl he will be out until mid-march. Bummer! We need his big redneck ass out there.

Which brings me to my point. We are 27-15 with all the losing and injury we are 27-15!!!!
Still solidly the 3rd seed and only 3 1/2 behind the Queens. We get Minn. the current 2nd seed tomorrow. I think we will have a better sense of where this team is after we send KG home acryin\'.
I guess I should be used to this team\'s January slump. It happens every year it seems and it is sooooo frustrating. Here\'s to Feburary being better.

Clearly, the worst is behind the Lakers. They\'ve survived the injuries. The return of O\'Neal and Fox officially begins the pursuit of home-court in the West. Stay within a few games of the Kings by the time Malone returns and steal the top seed in the last month. Go on ESPN.com and check out what the Jazz did to Malone and Bryant when the Lakers visited, and defeated, Utah last week.

The Los Angeles Lakers have an estimated $447 million value, according to Forbes, making the team the most valuable in the NBA.
No wonder Dr. Buss is throwing down big cash on Poker. Anyone else seen him playing on ESPN? It\'s a trip.

He better be ready to throw a bunch of that $$$$$ @ Kobe come the end of the season. As long as Kobe can still sign a contract ya know?

Karl Malone Livid at Utah Jazz Officials

LOS ANGELES, Jan 29 (AFP) - Los Angeles Lakers star Karl Malone vowed to "never, ever forgive" his former club Utah Jazz after a comedy skit which mocked both him and Lakers team-mate Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The controversial skit painted Malone as being homesick and poked fun at Bryant, who is free on bail after being charged last year with raping a female employee of a Colorado hotel.

"Some of the guys in that front office are cowards. Now that we\'re talking about it, that\'s the reason I\'m not there," said Malone, who played 18 years in Utah before joining the Lakers this season.

Malone told the newspaper he would not accept an apology from Jazz owner Larry Miller who took part in Saturday\'s skit during a timeout.

It involved the Utah mascot pretending to receive a telephone call in which Malone said: "They (Lakers) are mean to me they don\'t give me the ball.

"I guess it could be worse. I could be (Kobe Bryant)."

Later in the same National Basketball Association game, Miller joined in, taking a make-believe call at his courtside seat in a repeat performance.

"That was no class from that organization," Malone said. "After 18 years, for them to stoop to that level is no class. It\'s something I\'ll never forget.

"They don\'t know (Bryant). This is a great kid. That\'s disrespectful. I\'ll never, ever forgive them for that. Never in my life."

Malone compared his situation to that of American baseball superstar Roger Clemens who left the Boston Red Sox organization with bitter feelings.

"I know the chain of command there, and for somebody to pull a stunt like that, it has to be approved by the front office," Malone said. "For Larry to be involved in the skit ... I would never do that."

The Lakers next game against the Jazz is March 8 in Salt Lake City.

Just when you think things are settling down...

Bryant\'s out a week with a cut finger (moving boxes in the garage?), and the Timberwolves, the other team between the Lakers and Kings in the standings, rally from down double-digits to beat the Fast Breakers. Tough week on the road upcoming with a game at Lebron. Bottom line: Shaq needs to step up and start going 25-10 every night or they\'re going to be boarding a jet for Games 1 and 2 of the first round (again).

Also, the Jazz organization is simply thankless and classless. They should show tribute to Malone. They\'re complete jerks for mentioning Bryant.

Here\'s an obvious thought that I will state merely for the fact of official documentation among us fans: Considering that Los Angeles didn\'t win it last season, combined with the Bryant legal turmoil and Malone\'s desperation to finally be a champion and stick it to the Jazz, the Lakers almost have to win the title this season. It will be a major disappointment if they don\'t. One of the greatest underachievements of all-time.

First, the absolutely brutal West. Then, the winner of the CBA in the finals.

Gut feeling? Lakers sweep the Knicks in the finals.

Actuality: They beat the Pistons in six.

Nice Post Pitch. We all knew going into this year that this team was built to win it all and if not it would be a huge embarrassment to the Franchise. What I do not think anyone realized is the pressure that this put upon the Team. Not just the Fab 4 but the bench knew they would have to step up even bigger when the Fab 4 were not on the floor. I think they are doing very well when considering this angle.

It does suck to have Kobe out AGAIN. This team has too much talent to let it slip away. Even last year w/ all the crap we still made a good run @ it. Phil will figure out which group can give us the best chance and run w/ it. The T-Wolves got lucky last nite,Freakin\' great move gettin\' Spre. He could be dangerous in the playoffs.
