then why stay here and have doozie after doozie in their home town?
There\'s an old saying, you can take the kid out of staven, but you can\'t take staven out of the kid, or something along those lines. Unfortunately for quite many folks, you can\'t even get the kid(s) out of staven, there is some sort of fucked up attachment to this town/area that I can\'t even fathom, it makes no sense. I can go through my high school yearbook (and probably davepeck\'s for that matter) and pick out only a handful of people who have legitimately left either East Haven itself or a 15 mile radius of East Haven. It may be like this elsewhere, but I\'m pretty sure not this town\'s extent.
see the thing is (and ive seen this happen a lot), is a band cannot rely on hometown groupies forever. there is NO way a band can suceed this way. Honestly, im suprised the breakfasts staven crowd stuck around for this long. eventually you need to market to younger crowds and expand from your hometown area. i know they have been trying to do this, but the time is NOW to really change direction and start focusing on promotion outside the CT proper.
Look folks, the Psychedelic Breakfast is over. Jordan and Ron are gone. Everyone is older, inculding the band and the fans. It was an unbelievable thing while it lasted. Tim and Adrian are TOP NOTCH touring musicians. They can keep the name The Breakfast, in fact i think that is a great idea. But they need to move out from their highschool and college buddies and start making this a real career, just like Ron did with teaching. I agree with a lot of Leiths points. Start booking some serious tours in Colorado, Texas, North Carolina, New Orleans, Chicago, California, Seattle, etc. Get the talk about The Breakfast nationally and begin building a new fan base.
Rememer, most of the fans you will get from here on out will probably have no idea who Jordan is, and a lot will not know much about Ron either. So it really doesnt matter that they will not be in the band for a national tour. If they can find a very solid bass player and hit the road, they will blow up, mark my words.
Rest in Peace PB
Here comes The Breakfast
