good show tonight, i just walked in my door (2 hour 45 minute drive, ouch!). I LOVED the venue...it feels very good to be able to sit down when you want to. that place had great acoustics, great lights, etc...worth the extra money. highlights for me were tunage (i officially love this song), STL was very solid, Matts jazzy keys solo in Dig? (i think), and his rockin organ solos throughout the night (i was very very impressed with matt tonight, he took it to a level i hadnt seen him before), nice to hear EE1+2 opening cause i wanted to hear that tonight, the drunk monk bar/jam was really cool in the encore (liked the spacy sounds, very good build up), what the funk was really good (my first time hearing it live, chick dancin on stage got the rest of the crowd rowdy).
Overall it was a very good show, not the best, but def not a disappointment. I think of all the people in the band tonight, adrian was a little off. He missed a few key cracks by a beat that kinda threw off the sync when the rest of the band was doing a build up. nothing major though.
it was nice to meet more of you tonight, im slowly but surely getting to know everyone not just your .info names. Slimpickens, doc ellis, mark, marks friend and wife (names?), drew K, and it was nice to see the others that i had already met.
Conversation early in the 2nd set with the 2 45-year old patrons of the theater and their wifes (who were dancing the whole time). All 4 of them had never heard of the band before tonight:
Me: is this your first time seeing them?
them: yeah they are awesome, especially that one on guitar
me: yeah tims my favorite guitar player of all time
them: hes the best guitar palyer ive ever seen by far, unbelieveable. where are they from?
me: new haven, they play at toads a lot
them: thats very good to know, we\'ll definately see them again
oh, and also, i yelled out "no glove" early on, but they didnt give me any love (pun intended). hopefully soon ill hear it.
