its def good to switch tempos and chill a show out from time to time, most bands do that. however the breakfast is known for its intensity, so def dont chill it out to much, maybe a couple chill tunes per show
break it down, simplify

everything i think about this band has basically just been said. i really do love this band so fucking much. vocals need some work. i think a balance in the setlists with some softer tunes would only benefit the band (if done tastefully). but yeah, don\'t only try to appease the audience, it\'s about what you guys want.

I think you guys have big fucking balls to talk so much shit - enough shit to make \'the new guy\' post to defend himself.

what do your band\'s vocals sound like?
..uh, yeah didn\'t think so. most of you probably can\'t play a kazoo.
this forum is fucking clown shoes.

what a stupid thing to say. would you prefer everyone just not talk about any feelings we have towards the band unless their positive ones? this place is fucking meant for that. no one is saying they like the band any less, its simply a complaint that many people have with the band. still my favorite touring band, and talking about the few flaws of the band won\'t diminish that....so...on that note...you are the one who is the ball licker

who the fuck are you man?  i make a decent living making music.  music i\'ve written and performed airs on national television.  i\'ve shared the stage with acts you hear on the radio every day.  does this earn me your permission to post in this thread?  and frankly, i think i\'ve been pretty respectful and positive in this thread as have most of the contributors.  and god bless matt for feeling comfortable enough to come here and see what the fans are looking for AND for being able to pinpoint areas that need work and take steps towards bettering those areas.  THATS how this band is going to move forward.  i think you gotta step back and realize that you\'re pissed at a small minority in this thread, so don\'t come out here on some fucking high horse and blast everyone for having an opinion.  this is a fucking internet message board.

YOU are fucking clown shoes, dude.

i dont know much about clown shoes, but i think think this thread is a very good one...matt obviously is reaching out to his fans to ask our opinions and get some contructive critcism.  No one is on this message board becuase they DONT like the breakfast.  Heck, im on this site 2 hours a day and for a good reason, they are my favorite live band.  theres always ways for bands to improve, and ill be there every step of the way to hear the improvement.

I think JSLeeper is kidding guys.  He\'s too smart to make such a dumb post.  He\'s just gotta be careful because it\'s very hard for people to tell when you\'re kidding on the internet.  Lay off him.

Continue thread...

I could be "high" but not on a horse.
and was definately NOT aimed at anyone who plays music themselves
I meant it like if it was more like telling a carpenter how to do his job when you don\'t know how to do it yourself.

I\'m done with this .info business for now.

send me an email at fuzebox@hotmail.com and I\'ll give you my home address so you can come beat me up...or we can jam- your pick.

you\'re very emotional people and I think it\'s funny.

i think as far as new originals, i would really like to hear the breakfast play some jazzy instrumental compositions, kinda like heather but with more room for improvisation.  I\'ve been listening to bela fleck a lot lately (i\'m not trying to say that the breakfast should try to sound like them or any other band) and i think that the bfast could play chilled out instrumentals, and let the tightness be the intesity in the tune. i mean, these 4 guys are among the nastiest musicians out there and balls to the wall in your face mind melting insanity (i.e. space oddity from daniel st) is definitely not all they are capable of (see mayfly from utica). i would like to see songs with the tightness of spunk mixed with the chilled outness of heather and without lyrics.  this is not because i don\'t like the breakfasts vocals, it is just that i really like insrumentals, especially when a band can say so much musically. besides, when was the last time we got a new instrumental? wilford (weaksauce) brimley?
