heard this epic news last night from a disco head I went to the show with
word got around I guess...
then while having a cigg outside chevy another person approached me about the aforementioned events of serness...
really hope 08\' puts this band into the empire status of phish where they belong...
That\'s great news.
They\'ll belong in Phish\'s class when they start producing studio albums half as good.
This weekend made me realize how good Phish really is (or was I guess).
And I do not mean to take anything away from TB, my point is that there is a HUGE grey area where, to me, Phish are still the kings on top.
TB\'s live experience is enormous already, but they won\'t reach arena status with their sub-par vocals/lack of high quality studio work.
I love this band more than any other, but still realize they have something missing to connect to people that aren\'t engulfed in the jam scene, a boundary Phish broke down with some really incredible studio work that appealed to even my Gloria Estefan-loving mother at times.
Phish\'s voices weren\'t great live, but they sounded damn good on their albums and put together incredible melodies with hooks without abandoning their roots. That\'s the x-factor. I guess you could call it righteous-jam-pop, I dunno.
Anyways, do I think The Breakfast could sell out theaters and throw down with a few thousand strong? Absolutely. That\'s where I hope to see them. They are more than deserving of Biscuits and Umphrey\'s status.... Phish, not so much imo.
