Maybe it was the chocolates

chocolates don\'t distort, they clarify.

I kept "seeing" "wild things" in my peripheral vision the rest of the night.

There\'s been a lot of mixed reviews on this movie, but even with it having such a special place in my childhood, I still loved it.  I knew a lot about the film before I went (HBO specials, Spike Jonze interviews on NPR) so I knew exactly what to expect.  But yeah I really loved it.
Everywhere there\'s lots of piggies, Living piggy lives. You can see them out for dinner With their piggy wives, Clutching forks and knives To eat their bacon

I haven\'t seen "Where Are Wild Things Are" as of yet, but both of my kids did grow up with this book.  Just got an e-mail from a good friend that reads:

"Rickey,

Just coming from seeing \'Where the Wild Things Are.\' You need to get Fucked Up and go see this flick....freak\'n Forest (sweaty man) Whitaker dressed up as a furry monster with horns, chasing a kid dressed as a freak\'n wolf, who gets swallowed by a short, fat, female monster, who has a raccoon roaming around inside her stomach....(and that\'s just ten minutes of this surreal movie)

Once again...a lot of drugs..."

Thinking I need to go and see this.

David Lynch\'s Inland Empire...Unbelievably odd and time/space manipulative, meets bizarre indie actors.
"When I hold you, I hold everything that is-- swans, volcanoes, river rocks, maple trees drinking the fragrance of the moon, bread that the fire adores. In your life I see everything that lives."- Pablo Neruda:wave:

I know I\'m a bit behind on this, but I just watched Doubt. Incredible writing and incredible performances all around. I guess it\'s a good thing that it was adapted to film (because I wouldn\'t have seen it otherwise), but it\'s clearly a play first and a film second. Who would have thought that, in a film featuring great performances by Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Meryl Streep, the defining, tour de force performance would be by Viola Davis?

Great recommendation Drew.  This movie was incredible.

That is hilarious Rickey.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

Hot Rod: Stupid fucking movie but I defy anyone to watch it all the way through w/o laughing hard at least 3 times.

Oh and it totally gets better after repeated viewings for some reason.

Pirate Radio.

A thoroughly enjoyable movie.
AWESOME soundtrack if you like Rock and Roll from the 60\'s.
I fucking love this movie. I think I\'m going to watch it again tonight. It\'s a bit long just over 2 hours but it flies by.
Excellent casting and great acting.
