Quest for the Cup

EASTERN CONFERENCE
(1) Montreal vs (6) Philadelphia
Flyers lead series 2-1
(2) Pittsburgh vs (5) NY Rangers
Penguins lead series 3-0

WESTERN CONFERENCE
(1) Detroit vs (6) Colorado
Red Wings lead series 3-0
(2) San Jose vs (5) Dallas
Stars lead series 3-0

All but one semi-final could end up in a sweep, pretty boring if you ask me.
Worse off, all the teams I am cheering for are on the verge of being swept.

I cheered for a team in 2004 that was down 3-0 and won in 7 so I haven\'t given up all hope.

OWN3D is the only thing i can use to describe the lack luster preformance at MSG last night.

The Rangers began the game like a deer in headlights.

No refs to blame for this craptastic game. They are so done. I\'ll eat my words if they become the 2nd team in NHL history to come back from 3-0 but I do not see that happening

I hate watching sports when you don\'t care about the teams.

If whats left is Pitt, Philly, and Montreal. Who the hell do you root for. UGH

I guess of those 3 I hate Philly the least.

This was probably the best shot the Rangers will have for a few years. With all the free agents and restricted free agents they will have this summer the team is going to look a lot different next season.

makes you wonder if they should play all the kids they called up from Hartford last week. At least they would get an NHL playoff game under their belt. Hell maybe they could even keep up with the Pens.

And WTF Hank ? could you please stop A goal. I mean Holy crap, sure a lot were deflected and good goals but not 1 big stop the entire game. I hate this about the Rangers and it has been an issue all season. If Hank plays great, The Ranges don\'t score, If he gives up goals the Rangers score. No consistency

New York Rangers forward Sean Avery was rushed to a Manhattan hospital on Wednesday morning in cardiac arrest just hours after his team\'s playoff loss, the New York Daily News reported, citing unnamed sources.

Avery was unconscious and not breathing, the newspaper reported.

A source at St. Vincent\'s Medical Center said Avery, 28, arrived at about 3 a.m. Wednesday morning. Hours earlier, the Rangers lost 5-3 in the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden.

A source close to the team confirmed Avery had been rushed to the hospital, but declined to offer any specifics, the Daily News reported.

I didn\'t watch the game last night. Did he take a brutal hit?

I was just about to say no, and now I seem to remember a really nice hit on avery behind the play. I would say it was a good hit but not big enough to be remembered / highlighted.

The biggest hit of the night I think came When Mark Staal (Rangers) nailed his younger brother Jordan Staal (Pen). It was a huge hit right near the boards. I think Jordan was lucky to walk away. Really close to hitting his head in a prone position on the boards. It would be interesting to hear what happens at their next family get together.

That\'s odd about Avery....the only one that looked injured was Drury at the end.  He couldn\'t even stand up to skate.

Who prayed for the miracle?  Cause the Rangers got it tonight.
My boy Jagr really stepped it up and Drury played an amazing game, considering his injury.
And Lundquist was OUTSTANDING in the goal tonight.
With a sigh, i say, FINALLY.

Sunday afternoon will be an interesting game to watch....

That was a cheap shot on Mara.  Especially since it was at the end of the game.  I feel Sunday is going to be a dirty dirty game.
