I\'m still yet to hear eschers 3 or 4.

that\'s ok.. i don\'t think anyone (band included) knows how those songs go...

is that a dig on me because I\'m an idiot and they\'ve never been played and I\'m just recalling a rumour, or on the band because they just never played them? I\'m pretty sure I\'ve seen them in setlists.

Za is a pretty good answer to destiny but you don\'t see people requesting it left and right

most everyone who wanted destiny wouldn\'t know it if they heard it, it was always just lot hype at the sweet venues; just another phishy gimic.

spock\'s brain maybe?

p.s. i got a harpua, but it kinda sucked my poster nutbag.

Harpua blows. I\'d much rather see Phish play good music instead of tell a pointless story. Destiny Unbound is more hype than it is a good song.

As far as rarity goes, Episode 3 (Awakening), Garcian Fishbowl, Tribal Funk Affliction and Sundance probably fit that bill. Songs that most people want to hear but are only played once in a while.

Some Phish - Breakfast comparisons:
Moma Dance - May Fly Disarray
You Enjoy Myself - The Grand Scheme Of Things
David Bowie - Mooboo\'s Voodoo (Episode 2)
Reba - Rufus
Bouncing Around The Room - Tricky Ways
Down With Disease - Over Exsposure
Run Like An Antelope - Gladys Pimp And Kangaroos With Me
Mike\'s [Song > Hydrogen > Weekapaug] Groove - Escher\'s Etchings (1-4)
Split Open And Melt - Buquebus
Tweezer - Hard Luck Harry
Waste - Good Things
Chalkdust Torture - Surreal Radio
Wolfman\'s Brother - Great Big Fiery Ball In The Sky

from what i know of Psygn, it reminds me of Free (released relatively late in career, easy to sing along with/solid chords but no fancy writing, generally played often, sometimes jammed really long and somtimes stuck to the progression in a short jam)

boozetravlr, thanks for those comparisons, helps me get a better idea of the breakfast\'s song database

I await the comments back, but why are we comparing The Breakfast to Phish again?  This is like comparing Bon Jovi songs to Springsteen songs because they\'re both from New Jersey.

They are two totally different types of music, the common thread being that they play jammed out song and are considered a jamband.  I listen to Phish a lot, but would list to a PB/Breakfast show over them any day.  Then again, I listen to Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, The Doors and Brian Wilson a lot.  There is no one band that rules all of music for me.

Not sure if that was meant for me but I wasn\'t trying to start a debate as to which songs, when compared to Phish, were better. I was just giving DS673488 a guideline to some of the Breakfast material. If he is a fan of You Enjoy Myself, the he should check out The Grand Scheme Of Things. If he like\'s Moma Dance then he will probably like May Fly Disarray, and so on. Instead of just jumping into the Breakfast catalogue and not knowing what to expect he can kind of pick and choose where to get started.

That comment wasn\'t geared towards anyone in particular, it just seems that when I suggested in another thread that covering Phish for the FF, I got a lot of gruff for it from Phish fans.

All I was saying is that comparing Phish to The Breakfast is like comparing Apples to Oranges, it just doesn\'t work (in my opinion).

Chalkdust and Surreal???  Are you ser guy???  Chalkdust although played alot was a phenomenal song that I personally saw lift venues in the air spin them around and replace them just before the show was over...all Surreal Radio does is clear a room.;)

I like surreal walsh. Don\'t be hating. You only don\'t like it because it doesn\'t sound like disco biscuits. There, I said it.

basically i was just asking if there are songs in TB\'s repitoire that a. are rarely played but a real nice treat for die-hard fans when it is played, and b. used to be played, but havent been played for a long time and fans would like to hear it come back.  The harpua and destiny unbound references were just to give people an idea of what i was talking about (because most of us can relate to phish).  im pretty sure this has already been answered for me.

I am glad, however, that people have compared other phish songs to breakfast songs...because i am a 99/100 in my phish song knowledge, but probably a 5/100 in my breakfast song knowledge...so it is cool to see comparisons to get an idea of TB\'s song catalog.
