As for the Kobe vs. Jordan debate, get lost guy.. He doesn\'t touch MJ.

I am a huge MJ detractor. The fact his last shot will always show him clearly committing a foul on the push off is wonderful to me.
I give the guy props for being almost as good as Magic Johnson but he changed the game from a team game to a me game.
With all that said. I agree Kobe does not touch MJ but if he wins say 3 more in his career? I think a stronger argument could be made.

pfffffffft... "the guy"?

Yeah "the guy". Like I said I\'m an MJ detractor.

Anyway I found this awesome to read.

Larry Bird on the Dan Patrick Show yesterday:
Indiana Pacers president and NBA legend Larry Bird was on the Dan Patrick Show this morning, and the subject of clutch performers came up.
Patrick asked Larry Legend if Kobe’s ability to hit big shots rivaled Michael Jordan.
Bird responded with this:

"Well, I think Kobe is the best player in our league, and I think he\'s been the best player for a long time. Not to take anything away from anyone else.

Somebody told me the other day that he hasn\'t won an MVP trophy, that sorta made me feel like I wanted to throw mine away. That\'s how much respect I have for the guy.

He\'d be the guy that I would want with the ball when the game is on the line."

Almost reminds me of Bird saying (obviously back in the day), "I saw God today and he was wearing number 23."

the hawks didn\'t stand a chance today. that game was laughable.

lakers pick up right where they left off. got a little interesting in the 2nd half, but they still managed to win by double digits. too bad kobe remains uninterested. if he was a little more into it he may have done a little better than 21/23 from the line.

Well, it was a little dicier than I had hoped, but Gasol hit some key shots late in the fourth and Kobe had a great game at the line. A win.

It\'s official. Kobe Bryant is NBA MVP. Watching this Press Conference and how happy he is about it and all the fun he and his teammates are having at the Press Conference is awesome.
I have not seen him this comfortable in front of the press in a looong time.
This is great.

Is there any reason that the NBA or other pro sports for that matter don\'t wait until the season/playoffs are completed to announce an MVP.  I think that it\'s distracting to the sport as playoffs are still underway.

another game, another double-digit victory. no, i don\'t expect it to be this easy in utah, but the way the lakers are playing right now, i also don\'t expect anyone to beat them.

ps - if kobe was interested in his team, the lakers could have won by 20 tonight. it\'s really to bad.

But seriously folks, you can just hand the championship to the Celtics now. The NBA season is just like the NFL season: one grandiose formality before the trophy comes to Boston.

:lol:Would\'ve been nice of the Lakers to try against the Celtics.  At least their scrubs showed up for garbage time so they lost by 14 instead of 30.  The Celtics\' A team mopped the floor with the Lakers\' A team.  Kobe has no chance of carrying that sorry squad even if he were interested...and he\'s not interested.  Too bad the Lakers shit the bed at the exact same time the Celtics got nasty.

I hereby declare the entire Eastern Conference season and playoffs a formality.  See you in the finals!

Let\'s see: 34 from Kobe, 22 from Fisher, 20 from Gasol, and 19 with 16 boards from Odom. I mean, what more do you want? Answer: 10 more victories.

Go Lakers!

That\'s fucking brilliant dave. You had me thinking you were just being cocky about Kobe tearing it up.... however it\'s quite the opposite.  Hilarious.
