Look out world, here come the Celtics!

I\'m giddy because tix went on sale yesterday and I got pairs to see the mighty Celtics against the Suns, Spurs, Nuggets, and Bulls.  Championship #17, here we come!

Regarding the current headlines surrounding the Lakers, you simply cannot get even value for Kobe and he should remain a Laker for the duration of his contract.

My feeling about the Lakers this year doesn\'t so much center around wins and losses as even though the team can again make the playoffs, I cannot legitimately consider them a title threat. Rather, my main concern is the (hopeful) development of Andrew Bynum. Yes, he\'s only 20 and you can\'t expect a ton and you certainly can\'t expect him to hold his own against the West\'s big boys. But I at least want to see him start every game, play the majority of the minutes, and average a double-double. Bynum\'s progression could be as much a factor regarding Kobe\'s status as anything as he clearly wants to believe that the team is headed in the right direction, a notion that\'s been questionable since the end of the 2004 season.

Would love to see the Celtics win some games this year and get into the playoffs.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

Any Laker fan that thinks a Championship is in order is myopic beyond words but there is always a chance. I really just want to see some stability this year and if that happens who knows?

Ugh. What a devastating loss to start. Rally down 12 in the fourth only to lose on a late three. Good game for Kobe. Awful game from Bynum.

I don\'t know what to think about all the big rumors around Kobe coming to Chicago. I like our young team, and if we decide to go after Kobe it will be depleted. Kobe could bring a championship back to Chicago immediately, or at least an Eastern Conference championship, but something doesn\'t taste right about the idea. To give up Deng, Gordon, Thomas, Nocioni and ?Noah? seems like giving up too much young, hungry talent. Supposedly Kobe wouldn\'t want to come if most, if not all, of that list leaves Chicago saying there wouldn\'t be enough talent left to really compete.

I don\'t know, right now Chicago has two phenomenally talented (arguably \'the best\' in each of their respective sports), whiny, self-centered, overpayed athletes as headlines to come to my favorite two professional teams -- Kobe to the Bulls, A-Rod to the Cubs.

I\'d rather see neither one of them to be honest. I like building with Legos, not throwing kings on unsturdy thrones.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

Wow! The Lakers kicked the shit out of Phoenix tonight. I hope this kind of play is what we can look forward to this year.

i dont think the celtics or def not the lakers are title contenders this year. as a celts fan, i am obviously stoked about this season, but i still dont forsee them beating the pistons in the playoffs. i think this year will be a chance to get familer with all the new players. that being said, i think they have a real chance of winning it all in the 08-09 season

finals prediction: pistons lose to mavericks in 6, dirk finally gets his ring
break it down, simplify

Since there\'s no Pulitzer for message board writing, I hereby award you this month\'s .info Pulitzer Prize!  Hehe.

But seriously folks, you can just hand the championship to the Celtics now.  The NBA season is just like the NFL season: one grandiose formality before the trophy comes to Boston.

Oh no.  Wolfman does have another team to go nuts over, does he?  Say it ain\'t so.

WOW.  I just got home from Celtics v. Nuggets.  The Nuggets are nasty.  Melo, Iverson, K-Mart, Camby...pretty dope.  Anyone care to guess how many points the Celtics had at halftime?

"I dunno Wolfman.  It must be high if you\'re discussing it.  48?"  Try again.
"56?"  Not even close.
"64?!" Nope.

77

The Celtics led the Nuggets 77-38 at halftime.
[/COLOR]

The lead got up as high as 42.  They looked like the Patriots offense: Swift, accurate, overpowering ball control leading to a score-at-will scenario.  They couldn\'t be stopped.  Everyone from Pierce to Kendrick Perkins had highlight-reel buckets in the 1st quarter.  Rajon Rondo took Iverson\'s lunch twice in the first 5 minutes and took both steals back for uncontested layups.  KG had a THUNDEROUS, reach-way-behind-the-shoulder-with-one-hand-alley-oop from Pierce that brought the house down.  All this against a Top-5 team.

This shit is no joke.  If you haven\'t seen the Celtics yet, you and your team are in for a very rude awakening from these guys.  98-0: 95 to go.  Cue the fear.
