If anything Breakfast should be served to the Umphrey\'s fanbase on a regular basis.....

I agree a hundge %. Breakfast + UM = a perfect match.

I also agree. But it\'s funny how closely knit the Biscuits and Umphrey\'s are now. They are arguably the \'closest\' two bands on the scene right now. Umphrey\'s in Philly covers the Biscuits while the Biscuits are in Chicago covering Umphrey\'s -- UStorm was basically put together and thrown by Brownstein, Mags, and all of Umphrey\'s -- anytime the Biscuits are in the Chicago-land area it\'s almost a guarantee you\'ll see Bayliss, Cinninger and Stasik on stage. My point is that it\'s clearly not a matter of two bands playing the same styles coming together because of their styles, but they were both very smart in building this bond seeing that there IS a correlation between both fanbases. So why not combine the armies and expose both bands to more people. I don\'t know, I\'ve always thought UM and tDB used perfect marketing techniques for greater exposure by hooking up. They\'ve formed a year-round mini-festival type atmosphere, all I\'m saying is The Breakfast would be a great addition to this family.

And I totally disagree that tDB\'s fans are a lost cause. They have a huge fanbase that basically grew out of Phish heads. The set at Camp Bisco was the lost cause, being that it was on the last day and one of the earliest sets of that day. It was basically recovery time for most there after a long, long night before. After sunset is when the magic happens at a festival like Camp Bisco.

The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

11.more "spectacle"  ie audience interaction, visual stuff, antics    (I\'m really into this idea!)

Body-painted dancers, dangling from the ceiling (Cirque de Soleil style) or as moving sculptures on sides of stage

They can both thank Jonathan Levine of Monterey Peninsula Artists for this.

Story #6:
I did 5 issues of a fan newsletter called Breakfast Digest last year.  I stopped because I paid $80 an issue out-of-pocket to print it and I can\'t afford to print it anymore.  They\'re still up on here, take a look or I\'ll email them to you.  They\'re actually really good if I do say so myself.  Let me know if you\'ll fund it and I\'ll get back on it.  Again, differentiation.  The only band I know of that has a steady by-fans-for-fans newsletter is Umph, that\'s where I got the idea.

Wolfman, those newsletters were awesome.  Let\'s take up a collection and put one together for them to take on their midwest run.  Something free to get people over to the merch table!!

A new digest to celebrate the addition of The Striker would be key on the midwest/colorado run. Maybe i\'ll take some time out of my busy schedule to draw or maybe write something, afterall, the digest is all fan submitted stuff...

Breakfast Digest?!   a "fan spotlight" must be done on Gencs, Upstate, & Spacey, if it hasn\'t been done already ;)

I would love to see a revival and regular issues of the breakfast Digest to help digest my breakfast.

I think we have a responsibility to be honest to the midwesterners.  This is the face of the fanbase.  We don\'t want to be that transvestite hooker, with it\'s junk taped back and a turtleneck on... trying to pickup some drunken bushleague greenhorns out there.

I\'m right here dude.  I\'m on it like bisco heads on untz untz untz.

"Spacey got digested" = hilarious.

Hey Robyn, you know what happens when you suggest other people to be profiled?  YOU get profiled!  :)  Way to volunteer yourself.  PM me to set up a time.

Band leaves for midwest on the 26th, I\'m going to shoot for having this done, printed, and  personally delivered to the show at Jake\'s on the 23rd.

Thanks for the support everyone.

Ready, set, DIGEST!
