I had today completely wrong. Crazy shit. Who would\'ve thought we\'d see Eli celebrating and Peyton mourning. A very exciting and surprising day, I\'m surprised leith hasn\'t posted yet.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

No LT in the second half.
Rivers gets hurt and Volek comes in and THE CHARGERS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No team has better numbers than The Chargers over the past 8 games not even the pats. This Charger team is not the same one that the pats rolled earlier this year. They are soooooo much better in all facets of their game it really is not the same team that started the season 1-3.

As long as Rivers can play and LT can run at least a quarter, the defense will take of the rest and the pats are going down.

I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR ANYTHING BETTER.

REALLY.

Wow. Hate off to the Chargers offensive line, you won the game. The Colts didn\'t look interested in winning yesterday. All the starters get back and they came out slow and unfocused. It didn\'t help that the ball wasn\'t bouncing their way (2 tips for INT, missed opportunity for a fumble recovery). The Chargers just wanted it more, plain and simple.

Colts are 0-5 after earning a bye week in the playoffs. Yikes.

Last 3 Colts losses in the playoffs were to teams who went on to win the Superbowl; Patriots (2003) Patriots (2004) Steelers (2005). If the Chargers get Rivers and LT back and close to full strength, they should have a legitimate shot at redeeming their loss in the playoffs from last year.

19-0: 2 to go[/B]

I love the critics who are saying that the Patriots didn\'t look good in this game, and that they look beatable next week.  They\'re right.  I love them because they\'re inadvertently heaping onto the pile of validation that this is the greatest team ever.  When you win playoff games against very tough opponents by double digits...and that makes you look weak...well, that\'s never happened before.  The bar has never been so high for any team.  When the 80\'s 49ers or the 90\'s cowboys won a tough playoff game by 11 points, it would be "Wow, what a team, another double-digit playoff win over a tough foe."  With the 2007 Patriots it\'s "Hmmm, they\'re not playing as well as they could...perhaps they may actually lose a game."  This is unprecedented.

The claim of greatest team ever is theirs for the taking.  They do, of course, still have to take it.  This game against the Chargers will be the toughest yet for sure.  Tomlinson and Rivers are both definitely playing, no question.  Even if LT isn\'t 100%, Turner and Sproles are very, very tough.  To be fair, I don\'t think they\'d have any chance if Billy Volek played the whole game, but I also don\'t think he\'s going to play at all so it doesn\'t matter.  You know who else is scary?  Their punter Mike Scifres.  OMG who saw that last punt...66 yards IN THE AIR.  If the Colts had let it bounce, that ball could have easily rolled another 14 yards for an eighty yarder.  Do you understand what that means?  The Patriots could stuff the Chargers on the Charger\'s own 20 (great field position, right?) and then this guy could punt and pin the Pats at their own 1.  That\'s just wrong.  And he\'s consistent too.  Yes, kicking outdoors is obviously tougher, but it also gives you the potential for a tail wind.  The Chargers are not the same team that the Pats smoked in September.  This will be war.

A fun sublot for everyone will be to see who can produce more roid-rage moments: Shawn Merriman or Rodney Harrison.

On the other side, congratulations to all the Giants fans on the board.  No matter what happens, you now have the upper hand on division rival Cowboy fans forever, because the one time they met in the playoffs, you got them.  That in and of itself is huge.  What a day of football yesterday.  Two absolutely riveting games.

One final thought: last year the AFC Championship was obviously the real Super Bowl.  The Pats and Colts were so far and away superior to the NFC finalists Bears and Saints that it was pretty sad.  This year, the AFC team will be at least a touchdown favorite, but the gap has shrunk significantly.  Any of these four teams could win the Super Bowl.  Let\'s do it.

your right about the G-Men wolfy. I care not what happens from here on out. I am content with our season now because we played the cowboys in the second round and won. Making TO cry was the icing on the cake.

and that chargers game was one of the best games I have ever watched.

I\'d like to take this moment to acknowledge that lifelong Giants\' fan davepeck is issuing me his most heartfelt gratitude because I predicted a Cowboys\' win yesterday, just like I predicted a Tampa Bay victory the prior week, thereby issuing my reserve "kiss of death."

I consider myself a fairly accurate prognosticator of football (for instance I loved the Chargers on the field yesterday), but never in my life have I fared worse with a team in a season than the Giants this season. Even in the regular season, it seems as though their result comes out the opposite of my prediction.

So, Dave, allow me to take this time to say, you\'re welcome. And also to say:

Packers 27, Giants 17

Oh yeah, one other thing:

Chargers 27, Patriots 24

It will be so fitting that The Chargers ruin the pats dream season like the pats did to them last year in the playoffs .

Then to have Rivers lead them over Manning is just gonna be the best.

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP TICKET ALERT!!!

Prices have plummeted in the last 48 hours.  Last week prices started at $450 per seat.  I just picked up a seat to the game (not SRO, a seat) for $157 on Ebay.  The face value is $110, so this is hardly even a markup.  Prices across all the sites are slipping under $200.

I think the drop is the result of a combination of weather forecast (FIVE degrees at gametime!), opponent (San Diego fans aren\'t coming because it\'s very far, very cold, and very expensive to get here for a game that the Chargers are unlikely to win), and the fact that tix went on sale this morning which added to the available pool.

If you\'re a Pats fan and you\'ve got $175 to bid with, you\'re crazy not to.  This is a huge price drop.
