The Niners will take their division this year.  Watch.

:point:

Yeah you beat me to it. They lost Norv to the Chargers and forgot to give the ball to Gore. When you do that you have the year they had. You cannot deny though that the talent on that team and the progress they made last year was plenty of reason for me to post that.

Fans do that you know, hell you should know all about making the wrong call about your team even if it was baseball huh?

It\'s cool wolfy.

Sorry, that\'s not how it works.  You\'re thinking like yourself, not like a Patriot.  What you are really saying is, "If I were a Patriot, the pressure of entering the postseason 16-0 would weigh heavily on me."  But you have to understand these guys and how they think.  They are invulnerable to mental handicap.  They know no past.  They know no future other than the very next game.  They never believe they have accomplished anything until the confetti flies.  They are programmed by Belichick and they all think and act this way all the time.  If you listen to their radio shows and mid-week media sessions, they all say these things every time.  This is nothing new.  There are a lot of things that will affect what happens in the playoffs, but their season record isn\'t one of them.  When you take the field against the Patriots, you have the mental disadvantage by default.

(I know this will be a lost analogy on most people, but if you watched Star Trek The Next Generation, you remember The Borg.  The Borg were a collective being that all shared the same thoughts that were programmed into them by one mastermind.  They were absurdly efficient and an impossible enemy.  Check out this quote from their Wiki page: "The Borg have become a symbol in popular culture for any juggernaut against whom \'resistance is futile\'...They operate towards one single minded purpose: the pursuit of perfection...This is achieved through forced assimilation..."  The Patriots are The Borg.)

A valid point, and well expressed. Good job. I\'m in.

Not that anyone else watched it, but the TNG episode when they kidnap/resuce a Borg was on last night.

Wow. I figured the Ravens would at least make an attempt to prove they can hang with the big boys of the AFC but I guess not. They were down 30-0  ~18 minutes into the game. Manning played the first series in the third quarter (TD) then Sorgi came in for the remainder of the game. No need to run up the score.

It looks like the Colts will be lined up for the #2 spot in the AFC. This is very important considering they still have a lot of injuries, Harrison included. I\'m hoping he returns for their final two games (Hou, Ten) which are both at home. Even at 80% teams will have to respect him.

Yes. I tuned into that instead of watching the colts game. Also, though, I would like to say that from an ethical standpoint I have to disagree with your comparison.

I associate the Borg with the Priests of Cyrinx as evil collective anti-indiviudal enemy societies.

That patriots are not like that. The patriots are more like (Insert you favorite armoured (or not) calvalry division / commander (I chose Patton)) overwhelming and crushing all who stand in their way.

Patton, wonderful and amazing general that he was, STOLE GAS FROM OTHER ARMIES. This is much worse than maybe video taping or running up the score.

So, to me, the Patriots are like Patton and 3rd Army rolling across France..."Hold them by the noise and kick them in the ass"

so Wolfman, how was the Pats/Steelers game yesterday? At least the first half was competitive. Honestly, I just don\'t see the Pats losing to anyone in the regular season, but if they don\'t win the Super Bowl, the year is a failure. But that is just my opinion.

I would much rather see the Dolphins beat the Pats as opposed to the Jets or Giants. I just don\'t think it is gonna happen. I kind of hope it doesn\'t because I really hate Maurice Morris.

Man, that Lions was game tough to watch. They lead the entire game until the Giants/Eagles game ends and they cut live to the game just as Tony Romo is throwing a game winning touchdown. Now the 10-win Kitna-guarantee is out of the questions and unless the Vikings, Cardinals, and Redskins all lose and somehow the Lions beat the Chargers, Chiefs, and the Packers.

Nice Win for The Chargers. AFC WEST CHAMPIONS.
1st time in their history having 2 100 yard rushers in the same game.
Gearing up for the post season even with a bunch of injured players.
The Lions suck but they are still an NFL team.
2 games left in division 11-5 is not 14-2 but the team is looking real good for the postseason.

Pats win in harsh climate barely. Weather or not is this team not supposed to be the best ever and they could barely get it done against an inept Jets team?

19-0: 5 to go[/B]

All week I had been a little bummed that the impending storm would inevitably derail the Patriots\' vengeance-fueled uberthrashing of the worthless Jets.  But then in the lot this morning someone said, quite simply and elegantly, "I don\'t care about the score, just give me win #14."  That was all I needed to hear.  I was pumped for victory regardless of whether due humiliation would be visited upon the R-A-T-S.

I don\'t know how anybody could throw or catch a football in this weather.  It was windy and 30-35 degrees all day.  I am STILL cold.  Made it through the whole game though.  There were periods of snow, freezing rain, rain, and mist.  When I took my glove off my hand went numb in about 30 seconds.  First the ice and rain hit it, then the wind blew over it.  Hand = dunzo.  To simluate this at home, take a bucket of ice water and a large fan into a walk-in freezer.  Dip your hand in the ice water for 30 seconds.  Then have the fan blow over your hand.  Now try to throw a football.

That\'s the story of the game.  The weather had a much bigger impact on the outcome than anyone\'s vendetta.  Though frigid and drenched, I was just honored to be there, watching the greatest team of all time play their bone-crunching concerto before my eyes.  As Eugene Wilson crossed into the end zone with the Patriots\' first touchdown, the snow fountains rose majestically from the stands like the fountains of the Bellagio.  And like the cast at the end of Ocean\'s Eleven, I simply looked up and smiled as the water triumphantly skirted my face, reminding me how lucky I am to be able to witness such greatness in my lifetime.
