You know what\'s funny?  The Boston College Eagles football team is about to enter the Top 5 for the first time in their history, and not a single person in this town cares.

If the pats were 0 and 5, and the red sox finished below toronto, then people would be talking about the eagles.

It\'s not that they don\'t care, it\'s that there are more important things going on.

Also, how many of the top-5 (or 10) teams play in a city with 2 top-of-their-leauge teams?

The Bruins are 1 and 1, if anyone cares.

AFC South
Colts 5-0
Titans 3-1
Jaguars 3-1
Texans 3-2

11-1 combined record against other divisions. (Texans lost to Falcons)

Put down your food or beverages...

Raiders are alone on top of the AFC West.

4 weeks till the Indy/Pats showdown. Its going to be a great game if they both come in undefeated.

Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys are looking ser and if they win tonight over Buffalo, they will be playing New England as an undefeated team. Over the next 4 weeks they can be playing 2 undefeated teams.

The Patriots didn\'t look as great as they did in the first 4 weeks and are starting to look more human. At least in my opinion.

The Giants came back to win, which was nice to see. Especially since Shockey and Manning are on the fantasy team.

Chris Brown single-handly beating the Doplhins.

No.  This town knows NOTHING about college football.  There have been many years where the Sox and Pats were going nowhere and BC was ranked and bowl-bound all year, and people would only talk about the Sox and Pats going nowhere.  BC rarely and barely makes the front page of the Globe sports section.  You don\'t even see an Eagles picture or banner in any bar outside of Chestnut Hill.  The Eagles don\'t even exist to most people, regardless of the team\'s success.  They\'ll always be the #3 story, behind Sox offseason talk and Pats season talk and if the Celtics are any good they\'ll surpass BC too.  It\'s kind of embarassing but oh well that\'s just how the town is.

Anyhow, amazing Monday night game tonight, I won\'t recap it here but go watch the highlights.  The Cowboys did barely win, but after looking like that against the 0-4 Bills you can say sionara to any chance America had to convince itself that they would beat the Pats next week.  Some people had already told me to watch out for next week.  Please.  Turn the ball over 6 times against the Pats like you did tonight Romo, see where that gets you.  Look, I\'ll give the Cowboys huge respect and say Pats 31-21.  I mean cmon, the Pats have won every game by at least 17, so saying they\'ll only beat the Cowboys by 10 is giving the Cowboys huge respect.  And Spacey, did you watch the game against the Browns?  The only reason they didn\'t look sharp is because they didn\'t want to run it up against Romeo Crenell and Willie McGinest, so they just experimented with backups and weird formations in the second half.  I mean, watch the game again...they are literally running practice out there.  They go to Stallworth all first half when Moss is available just to get Stallworth going and get him some touches.  1st and goal from the 2 late in the game, the Pats run the same play three straight times up the middle and tell them it\'s coming, intentionally not scoring.  They let those guys off the hook and that\'s fine, those are old friends.  If you want to see the opposite scenario, i.e. the Pats continuing to play all-out when the game is in hand, wait till the Jets come to Foxborough in December, the Pats might win by 40.

Wolf, they were 1-3..at least we have to play the Jets again and the Dolphins twice.

As Gencs and I turned from the Yankees game to the Bills-Cowboys game, the Cowboys were going for the 2-point conversion. As the missed it and walking off the field with their heads down and I turn to Gencs and said "Look at these bums, there is still 20 seconds lift, enough time to get an onside kick and kick the field goal" and sure enough thats exactly what they did. I also said as the first one was kicked that Walsh is probably pissed right now.

Good MNF game.

Piss poor playing.

My bad all the way for calling them 0-4 and my apologies to Bills fans everywhere.  The real question now is whether the Jets/Bills/Dolphins can get a single win this year over any team that isn\'t the Jets/Bills/Dolphins.  So far we\'ve played 5 weeks and the Jets/Bills/Dolphins have 2 wins between them, and both came against the Jets/Bills/Dolphins.  Somebody has to win those games I guess, but outside of that these teams might not win a game.  What a lousy division.

19-0: 13 to go[/B]

OK, so the Pats just tooled on a 5-0 team that was supposed to give them a game.  And yes, I give the Cowboys credit for being the first team to take a 2nd half lead on the Pats this year.  But you know what that cute little 3-point Cowboy lead did?  It pissed the Pats off.  And do you know what happens when the Pats get pissed off?  They hang 17 unanswered points on your ass before you can get up and back from a bathroom/beer run.  They were in 3rd gear while the Cowboys were redlining in 5th just to get a 3-point lead.  The Pats just brushed that little distraction of a deficit off their shoulder like a flea, stepped it up 3 gears, and left the Cowboys way, way, way back in their dust.  Unreal.

I know a lot of you have been downplaying my countdown, not giving it its due serious consideration.  And that\'s fine, that\'s your roll as a non-Pats fan.  But now you really have to start sweating.    You better start convincing yourself that the Colts are fan-frikin-tastic right now, because if they don\'t pull it off.........who the hell is?  And here\'s a scary little newsflash for you: The Colts are not better than the Patriots.  Not this year, boy.  Look out.

It\'s looking like their Week 9 showdown will make or break a Patriots 16-0 regular season. However, @ Baltimore (Week 13) and Pittsburgh (Week 14) might be bumps in the road if they can get their offenses rolling. Even Week 7 @ Miami might be tough considering they lost 21-0 there last season, I believe. But Miami is pretty terrible. I\'m not going to lie and say I\'m not a little worried about the Patriots, they\'ve been very impressive thus far. I think their game against the Colts will be one of the best of the season. I have full confidence in the Colts being able to perform on both sides of the ball. The Patriots haven\'t beaten the Colts since the 2004 playoffs but they are obviously a different team now.

The AFC East is the biggest joke of a division in football. The Patriots may finish the season with the largest margin ever between the first and second place teams in a division. Considering the rest of the AFC East is 0-11 in games outside of their division, it\'s quite possible for the Patriots to finish ~ 10 games ahead of the second place team. What a joke.

Yes, yes, the Patriots sliced through the Cowboys secondary. No surprise there.

But how about Vikings rookie Adrian Peterson, slicing through the (suddenly awful) Bears\' defense to the tune of 224 yards and 3 TDs and then setting up the winning field goal with a big kickoff return. Might as well just give him Rookie of the Year right now.

Peterson had a fantastic day yesterday.

The Patriots look like the real deal offensively. Going to be some good football over the next few weeks of the mid-season.

Its nice to see him crack that shell. He has the talent and ability to become great. I just hope that he can have a longer than average career as a RB in Minnesota.

let is be known that the Bills, with a 1-4 record, are in 2nd place in the AFC East (pats 6-0, jets 1-5, miami 0-6)...what a great division.
