The mastery and vision of the enduring Marc Ribot shine through on this release. Although there have been many attempts to produce authentic indigenous music of various cultures, most have fallen short; this album succeeds in the wake of failure. Ribot delves deep into Cuban rhythms, and indeed the album is a tribute to the Cuban master Arsenio Rodriguez. Here Ribot finds an authentic Cuban sound employing traditional instrumentatio n: upright bass, wood blocks, cherke, and other percussion sounds. The performance is inspired, and the band consistently tears through Rodriguez\'s material, as well as some of their own. Ribot\'s guitar work nears perfection, and he proves himself to be the most soulful white alive. Songs like "Aqui Como Alla" and "Postizo" confirm these assertions. Although this album does not present the iconoclastic Ribot of The Book of Heads fame, it is an excellent album.

Does anyone have a copy of their bonnaroo show from 2004 that they\'d like to share?  I\'ve been looking for quite some time.

Thanks for the .zip fred.  I don\'t think this is it though...some of the songs are from other albums.  sounds like it\'s a compilation remixes.

Yea it\'s just a bunch of tracks from D-sides renamed.  Probably released by the group themselves.

Here is something that may help tide you over
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2Z6ZND89

"The Good, The Bad & The Queen consists of Damon Albarn from Blur and Gorillaz (vocals & keys), The Verve guitarist Simon Tong, Paul Simonon, former bass player of The Clash, and Tony Allen, drummer of Fela Kuti’s live band. They are referred to by the name of their first album having not disclosed a name. It has been stated by Albarn that there are no plans yet to change this.

Their first album, produced by DJ Danger Mouse, was released on 22nd January 2007 and charted at no.2."

this has all gorillaz albums at 320 kbps.  It also has a package of rare stuff too and a bunch of singles.  This is a great site, lots of great music mostly at 320.  It\'s not in english, but it\'s not too hard to figure out how to find the links.

niiiiice.. thanks jefrayn!
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash
