I am lucky my wife was in charge of the merch all weekend or I would have missed out on those shirts. She took care of me and surprised me with one when we got back home.
The Breakfast got on stage at like 9pm and fucking tore it up. they put on an awseome show, really heavy, psychedelic, rock. the lights and fog machine were on and the stage really looked good. good crowd by this time, and it seemed like everyone was really into this show. the guitarist is great, hes very talented and interacted with the crowd. the dummer is sick to, he was laying down some serious beats non stop for an hour. only good things to say about the bassist too. apparently they are about to add a keys player to their line up. the first show with him will be at Camp Bisco in the middle of august.next was Garaj Mahal. let me say that this was, no exaggeration, one of the best concerts i have ever seen. these guys are really good musicians who know each other very well. they really know how to get into a groove. it was a really cool, mellow set. the guitarist from the Breakfast came out towards the end and kinda wanted to steal the show from these guys but it didnt appear as if they wanted to give him the stage. haha their types of music are so different and, even though it sounded tight, you could tell GM was glad to get him off the stage haha. really great set though. it was a solid 2 hours and 15 minutes, no break.
Those photographs of the breakfast are great. Rich did a great job. How he captured the color of the light and how clear they are. I am glad he was there b/c I didn\'t get one picture all weekend.
well regardless, it\'s pretty well-known (amongst musicians, anyways) that when someone is asked to sit in, THEY get the spotlight. it\'s a respect thing. just go back and listen/watch to see how tim played when fuzz sat in at that danbury show..
has anyone seen any of the sets from this fest anywhere?? i\'ve been looking all over but i\'m not finding anything...
