Halloween theme
« on: July 24, 2007, 11:47:44 am »
Too early to start discussing possibilities for a freakout theme?  I still have to say "video games" would be a great theme (musical and costume wise).  Also, they could get the band "The Advantage" to either open or play between sets.  Would be for a crazy night.  A good opener would also bring more people in the door to fill the venue.

I don\'t care what the theme is. But, for the love of God, please have it anywhere but The Crapster Theater.

ive never seen a CT show so sorry if this is a dumb question. why don\'t they play the puppet house? the last time they were there was in august, 2005 for the \'album\' shows. to book special shows like that leads me to believe this is a nice venue. did it close?

The Puppet House is under new management and is heading Folkish. It is also a small venue in a residential neighborhood.

I believe the Freakout is going to be at Toad\'s. The band was discussing the theme back a couple of months ago. I don\'t know if they decided or not what to do.  Ellis and I are going as the Walrus and the Carpenter regardless.

I heard the Puppet House got destroyed during a metal show about a year ago.  Does anybody know anything about this?

the band should come up with a theme early and allow people to get the word out about it.  The shows seemed to go alot better when the fans had more time to come up with costumes instead of just a week or not even announcing the theme at all (like last year).

With the star wars/lebowski theme, didn\'t jambands.com give them a little blurb?  Announcing a theme and having them do another writeup might also be some good press.  They hopefully could also mention something about a little haloween run (iron horse>?>freakout)

how about horror movies as a theme. a halloween>jaws>psycho theme song jam could be a blast! and everyone dresses up as their favorite horror creature.

After watching the Filipino prison video posted by Slimpickens, I have to vote for a Thriller theme.

Band performs the album and gets the audience to dance along to the album\'s title song, "Thriller".

The Wire

They can cover the theme song, "Way Down in the Hole", and perform the 4 different versions of it.
Season 1 - recorded by The Blind Boys of Alabama
Season 2 - recorded by Tom Waits (he actually wrote the song.)
Season 3 - recorded by The Neville Brothers
Season 4 - arranged by Doreen Vail and recorded by members of a Baltimore Boys Choir

Encore with a hiphop medley> Son of Simpleton....

when moe. did that it was pretty cool.  They played some of the songs that were played in the show (flamming moe\'s, finally bagged me a home, see my vest "the one c montgomery burns sang").  That show also had a sick SOAD>buster if I remember correctly.

no offense, but this is a god awful idea. It\'s a great show I love it, but come on.  The Neville Brothers?  are you fuckin ser?  The Blind boys?  there is no way the guys could pull that off, let alone playing the same song four times in one show.

I\'m just hoping your kinda kidding.

not for nuthin, but not to mention the fact of how many black people actually go to Breakfast shows?  (cause the majority of the cast is black)  people could paint faces but me thinks that\'s a bad idea.

one way or another I want to try and find a "Donnie Darko" bunny costume.  That would be the tits.
