The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

Some animals were remarkably unafraid of the team. Two long-beaked echidnas like this one let scientists pick them up and bring them to camp for study.

I was thinking the same thing, but if we know about it, that means more exploration, which means it will never be the same as it was when that group went in. Kinda sad. :(

The good thing is that it\'s already in a nature preserve, which means only authorized scientific explorations *should* be allowed in.

Ive got to say...Im a science teacher and I truly believe there are many more places like this...with isolated mutations in remote locations anything is possible. Granted these secluded places are becoming very rare, there are many places not yet explored---deep seas, remote jungles, and high elevations are yet to be FULLY documented...In my honest opinion, I wish poeple cared more about the planet that we live on..we are going to be screwed very soon if we do not educate people about recycling anything non-biodegradable, limiting fossil fuel use, and recycling used condoms.......Everyone save your used condoms and put them in the BIN

i think our condition here is going to get a lot worse before it gets better, but i do believe it will get better.  i dont think we\'re powerful enough to completely fuck the planet.  we\'ll completely fuck ourselves first.
