I Mac Mini---
« on: December 02, 2005, 09:24:56 pm »
I have spent a while looking into the latest I mac mini and was wondering if  anyone thinks the price will drop dramatically after the holidays or should i just buck up and get one now,   (or for the geeks something more sophisticated)

Its a 3 year old mac crammed into a tiny white piece of plastic.    If you don\'t want expandability and speed and don\'t care about throwing money at old hardware, go for it.

Rumors say that Mac will put the new Intel chips into the mini first. They are supposed to be announced early next year. If that happens the price of the current models will drop. If you are moderately competent you can upgrade the hard drive, ram etc. yourself or go the easy route and get an external firewire drive or burner if you need more space or faster burning.

I have been thinking about buying a mini and turning it into a media center.
