LINK to song I just wrote it. Its based on a math theory called "Fibonacci sequence" . All I did was set parameters in musical terms and plug in the equasion. I think its pretty calming.
The way it works(most of you will get lost in here)
The Fibonacci sequences rule is that you must start with a set number, 1. After that, every new number is derived by adding the last 2 numbers in the list together. The list is infinite, but the beging is 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, [...]
1+1=2; 2+1=3; 3+2=5; 5+3=8; 8+5=13 etc
I took this, and asigned 6 seperate voices, 1 for each of the first 5 numbers in the strand plus a guide voice. I then equated the numbers to a C Major scale, 1=C
2=D
3=E
5=G
8=C
13=A.
I then equated each number to a tuplet duration accross common time, so
1=whole note
2=half notes
3=whole note triplet
5=whole note quintuplet
8=eight notes
Each note is given 2 bars to do its thing, then the next one enters. Once all voices are in for the first 5 notes, then a guiding voice of all the notes, including the 6th note enters as 2 halfnote quintuplets in a constant run up and down the patern. Once the lead voice has played for 2 bars, the patern is complete, and the Keys cycle begins.
The Keys cycle is created by taking the 6th note in list \'A\', and making that the root note value, thus changing the Key from CM to Am. What this means is that at the begining of the next bar, the whole note that was a C is replaced by a whole note of A. Since A is now = to 1, 2 can no longer equal D, but must in fact equal B. So, according to the new key, the formula now creates this:
1=A
2=B
3=C
5=E
8=A
13=F.
Once that cycle has finished, the lead voice will change to the new values. this plays by itself for 2 bars and the Key cycle begins again, this time in the Key of \'F\'. The cycle goes through C, A, F, D, B, G, E, and then back to C. This time C deconstructs itself back to the begining, creating a loop to the starting point.
still with me?
