The Breakfast has come a long way since their formation. They have overcome obstacles and barriers that would have crippled many other bands. They are right where they need to be at this time. This is the year of a new Jam King. Forget, Umphreys (sick, though), Bisco, Particle or any other jammers. Some of the bands out there had there chance and will not get another one. The Breakfast, however, had taken the right steps and put themself in an excellent position for 2005.
The one thing Phish did that never came back to haunt them was this: They never stuck to one genre of music. Listen to all the other bands around, they all have a particular genre of music they focus in on. The Biscuits, although sick, are stumped because their fans get way to fucked up. They couldn\'t come out and rip up an old fashion rock song. This is where the Breakfast seperate themselves. They have not committed themselves to anyone style of music but attempt to cover them all or soon will. This is important to creation of fan base. Never to spacey(my love), never to bluesy, not to jazzy but just perfect. The Breakfast has one root that others don\'t. They can play rock\'n\'roll, and as we know, rock\'n\'roll will never die!
The Players:
Tim P- Might be, if not already is, the sickest guitarist around. Unbelievable technical guitarist who continues to amaze me with his axe. We all know what this gut is capable of, he will not let us down.
Ron- This kat has come a long way, seeing him up there now ripping bass lines apart and holding the groove together is such a far cry from where he had been. It\'s kinda like Gordon and Trey, Gordon only got better because he had to keep up with Trey. If your bass player can keep up with his Guitar player, you are going to improve.
Animal- This guy beats drums like I have never seen. What other band out there has a drummer like this one? Best regional if not national drummer in the country! I use to hate drum solo\'s until I heard this dude rip it apart. The way he and Ron, work the grooves and beats are phenominal!
Jordan- Wow! I think this guy is the glue that holds this band together. I always looked at Page, and thought he didn\'t fit, but if you remove him from the equation, it just doesn\'t work. Keyboards just haven\'t been the same since Jordan starting playing them, perfect harmony everytime. Love the synth.
Take a look at other bands and see where they are, and measure success by consistency. It took Phish almost 10 years to become where they are. Bands like moe. Bisco and SCI blew up practically overnight but with nowhere to go. Take your time and do it right the first time and you will have no problems. These kats are going to amaze us all. This is their year. Keep that mindset and positive energy and they will not let us down.
As we say in Hawaii:
E ho \'omanawanui kana
See Ya @ Toad\'s for the Best Breakfast We Ever Ate!
