Such a tough decision for me. Do I make the long overdue trip to check out my friend\'s bar that he bought last year and also see the Breakfast at the Stone Church in New Hampshire? Or do I go see an allstar benefit lineup in NYC?
Phish/Trey has always been the main attraction for me since day one. The Breakfast moved into second place somewhere along the way during the past few years. So this was no easy decision....as it never is and always seems to come down to picking between one or the other.
In the end, my boss made my choice easy for me. I was told I couldn\'t take Friday, 2/11 off. So that ruled out any plans to drive 3 hours north to NH on Thursday night.
Anyways, this is a Breakfast board so I won\'t go on about how great the benefit show was. But I enjoyed myself MUCH more than I thought I would. Hope some of you who also couldn\'t make it to NH were there too.
I\'m sure the Breakfast Stone Church show that night smoked, as it is par for the course for them. But during some points in the evening, I couldn\'t help but imagine that it was a Breakfast benefit show rather than moe hosting this event. And that\'s when the wheels starting turning.
The way I saw it, Trey sitting in with Moe for the majority of their show last Thursday wasn\'t just a big step for Moe. That opened up doors for upcoming jambands all over the country.
Don\'t get me wrong. I\'m not suggesting Trey will be lining up to sit in with any and every band that invites him to a gig from now on. But a year ago I would have bet the ranch against him being onstage for the majority of a show with ANY band other than Phish or TAB.
Bottom line...I\'m hoping that someday members of the Breakfast and Phish will cross paths. The way I see it, it\'s only a matter of time.
