so, just to clarify my point of view on a few things..
i\'m not against scalpers, or the idea of scalping... at all.. i used to be. i used to get pist off and disgusted at the thought of it. that was before i started going out of my way to get tickets. now i pay attention to on-sale dates, wake up in the middle of the night to go wait in line for tickets, etc, etc.. if i can\'t get tickets to a show, i don\'t go. i\'d never pay a scalper (above face value) for a ticket. that\'s just me. but that said, i\'m not against it at all, and i realize that seeing a certain show is worth more to some people than it is to others. to me, it\'s not worth more than the price of a ticket.
i know a lot of people in \'need\' of a coventry ticket. while normally, i\'d have no problem hooking up a friend with a ticket for face value (i\'ve done it countless times in the past), if i\'d decided to not go to coventry, that ticket would be up on ebay in a heartbeat, and i wouldn\'t feel bad about it in the least. does that make me a bad person? i dunno. i do know that coventry tickets were readily available for a long time before phish made \'the announcement\' (and for a pretty decent time after, considering). you can\'t take too long to decide on something, or your gonna miss out. i heard the announcement, i ordered my tickets. if i hadn\'t done that, i wouldn\'t be going, and i\'d deal with it..
so what am i getting at? i don\'t know really...
to each his own is fair indeed i guess.
