Elton John 4-27-04. the arena at harbor yard; B\'po, CT
« on: April 28, 2004, 12:04:58 am »
what i have for a setlist from tonight.

The Bitch Is Back, Bennie and the Jets, Levon, Daniel, someone saved my life tonight, Ballad of a Boy, Shine The Light, RocketMan>piano solo>sick jam i missed for bein a freak, I Guess Thats Why They Call It The Blues,  I Want Love, Tiny Dancer, ?_________?, Take Me To The Pilot, La Nikkita, Original Sin, Goodbye Norma Jean, Love That Feeling, Believe, some tune i don\'t know but the 2 words i remember from the tune is "young girls", IM STILL STANDING, Saturday Night\'s Alright For FIghting, Crocodile Rock, PinBall Wizard, Don\'t Let Your Son Go Down On Me, my gift is my song....i hope you dont mind.

Tonights Elton John show was great.  I called the Bitch opener, not that it is something to be proud of.  I smelled that one coming a mile away.  The Bennie and the Jets was great.  There was a nice funk to the beat.  It was amazing.  The LEVON was my personal highlight.  I was kicked out of my motherfucking seat by that point, but the Levon brought me to tears........

Let me stop here and say that I will never take anyone, or go myself, to any "big named" show in Connecticut.  The crowd at the harbor yard was fucking stupid.  It was like every stupid fuck was sitting on their couch watching on VH1.  I couldn\'t believe my eyes.  I was actually approached by an usher DURING Bennie and the Jets and was told that I had to sit down, because everyone around me paid money to be there.  I almost spit on that stupid usher after I told him that I PAID TO BE IN HERE TO....he shrugged it off.

I then proceeded to start moving around the arena.  It was a real pisser too, because the seats I had were fucking sweet.  20 or so rows off the floor, "page-side", so we could see his hands playing that grand piano....it was sick, but the people in our section, and most every section SUCKED.  I was embarrased to be in the same arena with these fucks.  Elton and the band did sizzle for the entire night though.

The opening 3 songs had me hooked.  I was there for a sweet experience and all I got from the CT people was FUCKING GARBAGE.      The Rocket Man> piano solo> sick jam that i missed for being a freak, was AMAZING.  I missed most of it because I was being chased out of the stairwell by some usher after being told that I couldnt stand/dance by another usher.......

I guess thats why they call it the blues is right.  Cause there were enough blue hairs in the arena in bridgeport, I was afraid a bingo game was going to break out........Tiny Dancer, now the jerks in bridgeport want to start getting into it...what a joke.  nice version of  the tune, but the Take Me To The Pilot took off.  And the place was still looking for epsom salt and ensure.  La Nikita, HA, I havent heard that song in so long.  Elton John\'s voice is still top notch....

I was hoping when I heard the opening notes of Goodbye Norma Jean that he WOULD  NOT do the princess Di version.  And thank you GOD in HEAVEN, for keeping it as real as you can at an Elton John concert in Connecticut.

Nice intro to Love That Feeling.  And the tune about "young girls" almost got everyone under 32 off their feet.  I was in the stairs of my section for these.  Getting Down.....Once I heard I\'m Still Standing, I rushed back to the seats to see my mom.  That was the only song I knew that she was looking to hear, but might not.   So we rocked out ISS and it was so special to be singing and dancing to this tune while everyone around us was still sitting.

By this point it was song, walk of stage, song, walk of stage.  The saturday night was nice and so was pinball wizard and the last one "I hope you dont mind, my gift is my song"...........

I was screaming hard to hear Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters, but he just wouldnt do it.  All in all it was great to see a legend whose carrear spans like 4 decades.  And I will use this show as a lesson learned.  If you want to go see a legend, or any act where the average audience is 40 years old, go spend the extra money and go to a show at MSG or somewhere OTHER THAN CONNECTICUT.  It was like the street value of Bridgeport was increased tenfold.  Every stupid old boring fuck from greenwich to Old Saybrook.  From Danbury to Hartford was there in Bridgeport tonight, and they weren\'t going to let anyone have fun..........

I know that this may come off as hostile, but seriously, it was a good show that could have been great if it weren\'t for the lame ass fuckers that were there.  And I hope they all f-f-f-f-f-f-f-fffffade AWAY, and dont try to dig what we just say....im NOT Tryin to cause a big sensation.......just wanted to rock out with elton john and some people from my generation...........

exactly how it was a bunch of years back when I saw Roger Waters at the Oakdale, needless to say our seats weren\'t that great, but we got told to sit down many of times by the schmucks behind us.

Where our seats were row P section 114 the sound was phenominal.....the sound was muffled for the people sitting higher up where the lux boxes hung over the seats...

Played from about 8:15 or so till about 10:45....just about nonstop...
