By Andrew WallensteinNEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - The new HBO Western "Deadwood" provided the premium channel with its most-watched series premiere ever. The first installment of the David Milch-produced drama drew 5.8 million viewers between 10 and 11 p.m. Sunday, eclipsing the 5.3 million that "Carnivale" drew last September after its premiere aired following the season finale of "Sex and the City." "Deadwood" was helped by a solid outing from "The Sopranos," which grabbed 10.1 million viewers in its third week. That was enough to beat all the broadcast networks in national homes among viewers 18-49. While dropping a considerable portion of its "Sopranos" lead-in, "Deadwood" did manage to squeak by CBS among male viewers 18-34. Reuters/Hollywood Reporter
