This would be like the NCAA sponsoring football in the fall and arena football in the spring. The same 20 teams would be in the top 20, probably in the same order.

Or, to take this the other way, this would fuck up recruiting for real volleyball. Since beach volleyball is a two-on-two sport, high school players would all want to go to a school where they could play in the sand immediately. The depth of good, real volleyball programs (not just the best, but maybe the top 50 or so) would crumble, and a few superstars would dominate.
