The Official Wounded Buffalo Theory Thread
« on: September 08, 2008, 09:02:34 pm »
Hey everyone. I know I\'ve posted about these guys on the board for a while so I figured I\'d start a thread to keep interested heads abreast of the latest WBT news.

Call it blasphemy, but yes, as some of you heard me saying at Sully\'s, the guitarist in this band rips so hard that even our much-beloved TPalms would have a tough time keeping up. I\'m serious. The kid\'s a phenom. You gotta check them out.

Here\'s a list of upcoming shows. NOTE THE SATURDAY SHOW IN ALBANY!!

September 13th/8pm - Red Square, Albany NY
September 25th/7pm - Fat Baby, NYC, NY
October 3rd/7pm - Canco Lofts, 50 Dey St, Jersey City, NJ
October 31st/9pm - Dethloft, 10 Cook St, Bushwick, Brooklyn
November 1st/9pm - Winston\'s Rage Cage, Albany, NY (with DJ Nanobot)
November 6th/7pm - BROOKLYN ROCKS! MUSIC FESTIVAL, Greenpoint, Brooklyn
November 15th/9pm - Stonewall Tavern, Mansfield CT (with the Hippocampus)
December 27th/1am - The Underscore, NYC (with the Hippocampus and more tba! Post Bisco party)

Huh? :hscratch: What? :hscratch: ARE YOU SER? :hscratch:

You can\'t be. That was the best of three videos I watched. The kid aint bad, but he\'s elementary compared to TP. Sorry chip.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

Yeah, I watched 3 of their video\'s on youtube.  Band had a cool sound and the kid was a great guitar player.  But Diana, give me a break.  He\'s not even on the same planet as Tim.

I have a theory that your blasphemy was a trick to get folks to search out this band in order to see a guitarist that could dust Tim. While they realized that he really wasn\'t that good, they might really like the band.

i wouldn\'t say it if i didn\'t mean it. it would be a tight match up. seeing tpalms and lucas duel it out on stage would definitely produce some sick guitar riffing. don\'t get me wrong, i\'m a tpalms fan through and through -- always have been, always will be. but come on, this kid is not yet even 22 years old!!! gotta give props. and like the breakfast, wbt is a band best experienced live.

I\'ve been a student of the guitar for 19 years.  Analyzing technique and players is something I really enjoy doing.  This kid is good, especially for 22.  But I got to see Tim play at 22, and this kid couldn\'t even carry his guitar case. I\'m sorry, but I gotta call your claim what it is... horse$hit shenanigans :)

i respect your opinion and i\'m glad you think he\'s good. thanks for caring enough to check out the music!

and just for the record, there\'s no $henanigans involved. just respect for the band and a desire to see them succeed so i can listen to more of their music!

That\'s hilarious.. I didn\'t get to see Tim play at 22, but I\'ve listened to plenty of early PB shows and could not agree more. Wait, how old is Tim?  First time I saw him was \'03.

First time I saw PB, Tim was 20 and had long since been on another planet.

keep in mind that u can\'t fully judge this kid or the band off of one youtube clip... like the breakfast, it\'s best to see them live, of course.

I know, that\'s why I watched three YouTube clips. ;)
