Just caught The Breakfast @ The Mint.  The new lineup with Chris and Matt is EXACTLY what Tim and Adrian needed.

High Sierra Music Fest happens every July 4th weekend on the WEST COAST.  It\'s the best festival in the country for finding new acts and enjoying amazing talent in workshops/etc.

They\'ve played it before, I believe in 2002 and 2004?

I\'m asking you guys just go to the High Sierra website and request they be added to the festival! It\'ll take two minutes.  Then buy tickets and get out here!  You\'ll make it an annual pilgrimage -- BELIEVE ME.  Anyone who goes, comes back. It\'s that special...

Went three straight year \'03-\'05... Can\'t afford it these days.. easily the best festival I\'ve been to. Actually \'03 HSMF introduced me to The Breakfast.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

They are talking about a band themselves soliciting a spot. Perfectly fine for fans to grovel!

I fully encourage everybody to spend 2 minutes and get this done, but I don\'t know how much good it will do.

It\'s true, HSMF is one of the premier music festivals in the country.  Always a top-notch lineup in a beutiful part of the country; that being said, it is very difficult to make it into the lineup.

Coming from a source very close to festival promoters, "you need to earn your spot at this festival."  This requires heavy-touring and fortunate ability to have one of the concert organizers see or hear a live show or two.  They are not just going to give the Breakfast a spot based on a few requests being sent to the festival\'s \'contact info\' email account.

I was singing the Breakfast\'s praises and playing some great stuff from the catalog for this person close to the festival organizers immediately after the \'06 festival.  He was really impressed and digging their stuff, but he told me without earning your spot, it doesn\'t matter how good they sound.  He even suggested that the band show up in the parking lot and just play.  Anything to draw attention to themselves.

well, hopefully some of the organizers went to a west coast breakfast show in the last week!

and if they didn\'t, hopefully they\'ll get another chance relatively soon.

Having the Breakfast added to the HSMF line-up would be so fucking sweet!  Especially considering I recently moved to San Francisco and last week they played everywhere in CA except for here.

Request has been sent to HSMF.  Fingers crossed...
