anyone have anything cool? I have one of these:

a Scott Stereomaster 340-B, all tube reciever. It\'s great! Kind of like having a tube guitar amp power your stereo. Has cool features (seperate bass/trebele controls for each speaker, center channel, loudness...), especially considering it\'s a 1965!

can you roll the tubes in it ? ie. use new old stock tubes ?

there is a fairly decent market of tubes made in china and some eastern European countries still making tubes for old eq. If you really like your vintage gear it may be worth checking in to especially if the tubes in your EQ are original

edited to add:  The reciever you have is pretty sweet for live recordings as it gives you the abilty to dial in the gain on each channel to your liking. pretty cool. There are some modern amps out there with this feature but they are more the exception than the rule.

I don\'t know if my Marantz qualifies as vintage. It is only like 15 years old. I have been getting the upgrade bug but I want to invest in killer speakers before I do anything else

you mentioned it had separate gain (volume) controls for each channel. that was what i was referring to

did you buy it 30 years ago?

1923 London upright Edison record player

Esty organ, nearest I can tell by the temolo is it was built after the 1860s

I also have a 1937 Truetone D700. This is a completely different model but it will give you an idea. I need to order new tubes for it and redo the entire wiring system. Back then all the wires were coated in cloth (no such thing as commercially available plastics) and a lot of it has rotted away.
