definitely see him, but don\'t expect a full on funk fest. he\'s my favorite bassist and he always WOW\'s, but expect some slow, soulful tunes, some r&b, some gospel-ish stuff, as well as the thunder slap, funktified fun. i\'m not real sure who ghe\'s got playing with him this time, but if reggie wooten is there on guitar, be prepared to see him throw out more notes per solo than timmy at his fastest. we\'ve all heard of 16th notes, 32nd notes, 64th notes are more rare, but reggie throws down whole solos of 128th notes!! he uses old school wrist sweat bands to keep the strings from making too much extraneous noise and slides them up and down the neck as needed. its trly a sight to behold!! that whole damn family managed to get the badass gene, apparently.

well, except for futureman....

anyway, have fun, make sure you see the master up close, and expect a varied night of music!

I know his repetoire very well, and I\'ve heard a live show or two, so I know what to expect.  I def dig his gospel/soul stuff too.

Victor and Oteil IMHO are the two greatest bassists alive.  For proof of this find a recording of the Jammy\'s from 2004

this opinion needs not be humble, everyone should have it!! if you\'re familiar with his stuff frmo discs, then you\'re gonna have an absolute blast!!! i got a chance to see him ni a tiny 200-250 sized place back in 98, and he started off playing backstage. by the time he stepped out, he\'d locked into this ridiculous rythm that had everyone stunned. then he came to a dead stop, said hey, and dropped right back to where he\'d been. some guy sitting right in front of him just started cackling, an \'i don\'t believe in vampires, but i just watched that one fly in the window and start sucking my blood!\' kind of mind-boggled, that\'s just not right, what are you, an alien?! kind of cackle. victor started laughing at the guy, who then said, "you\'re a GOD!\' to which vic laughed some more, stopped on a dime, said, \'I bet you\'re pretty good yourself\' started right back up and went OFF!!!

needless to say, i\'ve been searching for the tapes of that ever since!!
