i\'ve heard it.  not sure what i think of it yet.  frances the mute was such overindulgent trash, that i\'m having a hard time not thinking, "oh fuck you, you\'re not the hotshit you think you are..." whenever i hear their stuff.  there are parts of this record i like.  i have to listen to it again.

:shock1:  Damn! Glad you\'re not the guy doing my annual review at work!

In my opinion Omar just reached for greatness but fell a little short.  I like how he goes for broke.

On the new one I heard Frusciante played almost all the tracks for Omar to listen to for a 3rd party perspective.  I wonder how much of John\'s work made the final cut?
A man who has seen the things I have seen,
experienced the loss and pain I have experienced,
I transcend race, hombre.

omar could be great if he\'d try to learn more about music and practice more.  the guy obviously has a great ear and a lot of talent, but his technique is like someone who is pretending to be really good at guitar but in reality has NO idea what they\'re doing.   it sucks, i try so hard to like the mars volta, but they keep making that a really difficult task for me.
