Jerry Joseph kicks some butt!
« on: April 25, 2006, 12:55:43 pm »
So my buddy JT\'s Bday was yesterday and we had a party @ his place. He has a  gorgeous Spanish Style Villa in the hills.  Kegs of Amstel ,Yellowtail , and Fat Tire, Full Bar and a spanish buffet.

So the entertainment for the night is his friend Jerry Joseph.

Talk about stoked! I have seen him w/ his band The Jackmormons before but just him, a guitar and cigs was cool.

He played a bunch of killer songs  and closed w/ the crowd requested Climb to Safety( one of my favorite songs WSP plays).
It was soo much fun and when I get some pics emailed to me I will post them.
If you get a chance to see this guy solo TAKE IT!!!

It was also cool to just hang out and rap w/ the guy. Talking about his shows w/ Schools was fun and the guy has stories that just blow your mind!
Just wanted to share the fun I had last night.

I\'ve seen him sit in with WSP many times... they cover several of his songs.  Actually heard Stockholm Syndrome (Jerry\'s band w/ Dave Schools) on Sirius the other day for the first time, and it sounded pretty good.

He is a great song writer.

i\'ve been seeing him multiple times a year since 99, both with the jackmormons and stockholm syndrome (watch for more dates from them later this year) as well as solo (just saw him a couple weeks ago in a buddy\'s backyard for the fourth time). i\'m a *huge* fan of his and i highly recommend checking him out whenever possible. brad (drummer for the jackmormons) has been having back problems, but is apparently just about ready to go back out on the road, which would make me really happy, since that\'s my favorite format for him, and i haven\'t seen them in almost three years.

his songs scream of agony and loneliness while at the same time ringing out the beauty of salvation and redemption. a furiously honest man who\'s lyrics convey that brutal honesty.

but if you wanna hear something really cool, find his recent show from mexicali blues with steve kimock. they were both in little women together in the late 80\'s, but haven\'t played together since. jerry plays his songs and steve just plays along. its *really* good (though akwardly mixed at times). good enough, that they\'ve been talking about doing more shows with just the two of them.

is the Stockholm Syndrome Schools side project?

Do they have anything on archive? (can\'t access it through work)

Is he a drummer? He mentioned he has been touring w/ just a drummer lately. Says he really likes the freedom w/ just the 2.  I wonder if your friend is who he was speaking of?
Pretty small world huh?

no, last summer it was my buddy Jpat on acoustic and Harp and JJ on acoustic. the drummer sat in a few times though and the three of them may be doing a small stint in the summer from what i hear.  my buddy is overseas right now touring in Denmark and France and stuff. when he gets back they are getting together to iron it out.  should be interesting.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. What kind of harp do you mean?
