:that:

I had been been looking forward to seeing the band for around 6 months, but i was never able to make it. i was working 5 nights a week and going to school 2 nights a week, so i never went to any shows that were not worth it for me to give 2 weeks notice for a night off from work. i got out early the night pb played when oysterhead tickets went on sale so me and 3 other people from work + chris n. went down to toad\'s to see the breakfast. first song heard live by chris and i was buquebus! i already had deuce and i was pumped for the buquebus opener when they started the show.

:stupid:

That was a good show.  Jeff Pevar playing on a few songs was great.  I remember thinking, I have never seen anything like this in my life.  So yeah, first song I heard live was Buquebus.  Pretty good for a first song, and also got a Maggot Brain, a song with Dave Peck on vocals!, a new shoe dance, and a first time played Rockin\' in the Free World out of the deal.  I was actually learning that song on guitar at the time so that was a clincher for me.
If trees could scream do you think we would be so cavalier to cut them down? Maybe if they screamed all the time for no good reason.

Probably the worst thing about having King Kong run rampant in your town would be the huge, monster genitalia.

I wish I had a kryptonite cross, because then I could keep Dracula and Superman away.

1st song- Space Oddity.  I was working at the bar, and they made me stop and take notice.

1st original- Phaddy Boom Baddy.  I found myself singing it in the car after that same show, wondering if it was an original, or just a cover I wasn\'t familiar with.

experienced the loss and pain I have experienced,
I transcend race, hombre.

January 23rd, 2003 - The Brewery; State College, PA
I: The Great Big Fiery Ball In The Sky > LDZ > See The Light > In The Flesh, Cut Me Some Slack, The Chase, Puppetry
II: Beef Barley > No Glove No Love, Help On The Way/Slipknot! > Bugs, Lit*, Wild Pack Of Asscracks, Drum Solo, Roadhouse Blues
E: jam** > Taboo Or Not Taboot
* with \'The Simpsons Theme\' tease.
** with \'Shake Everything You Got\' tease.

I made it away from the bar and actually noticed a band was playing right at the beginning of the second set. Double fisting some local chocolate brew and a Jim Morrison, I stumbled down to the front of the barn-styled dance floor. "This is fuckin insane!? What the hell is really going on?" I said to myself as NGNL ended and the boys opened Help in standard style. It was mayhem from then on. I think by the time I was lured out of the bar I found myself on an icy back street in State College. Two steps later I was looking directly at the night sky, from my back on an iced brick street. The weather topped off at 4 F the whole week I was in town visiting. I doubt the guys worried about that at all, because the heat coming from the bar was like a blast furnance. I saw em 4 months later out here on the campus of ASU in Tempe. Good times.
