No soon enough. I am trapped in my cube until 5pm. I having been trying to toot my horn all day but to no avail.

You can\'t toot your horn in your own cube? Poor Guy.

(disclaimer for moderators) Sorry for contributing to the overthrowing of the Breakfast Horns thread as it becomes the Spacey and Joe employment thread, though I\'m curious to know what you\'re doing in a cube on a Saturday.  Must either be something urgent or customer service oriented that requires round-the-clock staffing.

Enough "jam bands" are experimenting with horns lately. I think I\'d be pretty dissapointed if I showed up to a B-Fast show and had to listen to horns instead of the heady jams and sick funk I\'ve grown to love more and more with every show...

I see a couple bands with horns. This chic that plays with Scott M from MaxCreek plays in a side project band (the Depth Quartet). this chic plays the alto, tenor, flute and something else (no not at the same time) through pedals. i think the spacey shit she plays would be kind of freaky in a silly synth out jam. and the other person plays in Fungus Amungus one with a peddle set up and another with out. there are a couple bands up here with horns.

Right because horns are never involved in heady jams and sick funk.

When I think of funk I think of horns most of the time. And then I think, man, I wish more bands could play horns without feeling like they have to play funk. he he

Yeah me too.

rotfl rotfl rotfl

If I were to hear Breakfast with horns I would prefer edgier, more broken up, less melodic playing than I have heard from Breakfast horn attempts in the past. I don\'t like the floaty predictable stuff I have heard in the past.

The horns on Score (I believe) on Real Radio, for example, don\'t do it for me at all and I think alost detract from the band\'s playing. That type of horn playing actually sucks out energy instead of adding it.

Depends on your definition of "heady" ;)

Personally I\'ll go see a Fungus Amungus show (which I won\'t unless I happen to wander by their tent at a festival) if I want to listen to horns. I really don\'t think adding more instruments to the lineup is gonna make Breakfast any better.

I guess I am biased against the sound of horns trying to compliment a sick guitar jam.

I dunno, why mess with a good thing?

Gladys Pimp with horns... sounds terrible to me. What horn player can keep up with Timmy playing at full tilt anyway?

There are plenty but I think it would be impossible to get ost of them to play with a band like ther Breakfast. No offense meant to the breakfast at all; it\'s just two different worlds that are unlikely to merge.

I agree about messing with a good thing. I don\'t think horns are really agreat idea at all. I was just saying, if it WAS going to be done...

Seeing Ornette play w/ Tim would be sick.
Maybe as sick as Jerry and Ornette jamming was.
