ok.....we were supposed to see the 11:30 screening but the crew i was going with didnt all arive until 11:35....I was not going to be forced to sit in crappy seats even if it would have been right at the beginning.....You aren\'t seeing a whole star wars movie if you miss the mighty intro scroll....so i told them they could go in with the kids to see that one and I would just wait for the 12:30....anywho we all went to the 12:30.....
I loved this movie from opening to closing credits. Definatly the best of the first 3 episodes...but we all knew this...
When was "good acting" EVER associated with a Star Wars movie... I mean, the best actor in Ep. 4 - 6 was Alec Guinness.....Harrison Ford was good but he is an action star...not necessarily an actor.....Mark Hamell was the main character.....He\'s now doing a dinner theater version of Guys and Dolls......"Luke be a jedi tonight....do it for yoda and the ewoks".... So people who argue that the acting was "bad" have no argument in my opinion.....
George Lucas has a wonderful imagination, but cannot write dialogue for shit....Again..blatantly obvious from all the other episodes....so I never have a problem with a corney exchange between 2 starwars characters.....Regarding the Vader "NO" scream...it was strange...very dr. frankenstein and his monster like....but listen to vader at the end of Ep. 4 when the Han blast him out of the sky so Luke can get a clear shot at the death star....cornier than the "no" in Ep. 3....
I thought Hayden Christiansen did an amazing job as Anikin...in both Ep 2 and 3. Especially where here in ep. 3 every nuance of Anikins character turns to the darkside...though i think Padme says right before she dies, "there is still good in him". She could feel it as Luke could feel it at the end of Ep.6
I was wondering how they were going to end it...and tie a movie that was made in 2004 to a movie that was made almost 30 years prior....but they did an amazing job...
Visually EP. 3 was like super candy for my eyes.....
The only 2 issues i had with it were stated in wolfys post...Which i just read as not to spoil any of the movie for me.......
Two crucial moments that weren\'t totally convincing: When Anakin swears himself to Palpatine and when Padme leaves him. Decent enough lead-up to these events, but not all there in the moment.
This I attribute to the simple to the point story that is the Star Wars saga and the mediocre writing of George Lucas...
All in all here is how i rate the 6 episodes
ep 4
ep 6
ep 3
ep 5
ep 2
ep 1
